Off the beaten path................. I was aware this place existed, from the county health inspection reports, but what I didn't know is that it's open to the public.
It's housed in the State of Oregon Human Services Building. As a civilian, be prepared for a security ID check and temporary photo badge. It's the kind of scrutiny one might expect to undergo when visiting the Oklahoma City BATF&E office. The lady who administered it was very pleasant and helpful however.
Once in, it looks a lot like many institutional cafeteria set-ups you've seen. They have a good mix of Sandwiches, Burgers, an assortment of Mexican food, a hot Turkey dinner and a fresh and fully stocked Salad Bar.
I opted for a Grilled Turkey Club Sandwich ($7) which came with Crinkle Fries and a build-it-yourself Salad. The Sandwich was as good as could be made, given the ingredient quality. (Processed Meat and Cheese) I took a little bit of every Veggie and three cubes of Jello (One of which evaded my fork and found its way onto my lap. If anyone noticed, they were kind enough to avert their eyes.) in my Salad and topped it off with Sunflower Seeds, Croutons and Kahlena French Dressing.
Not a bad cafeteria lunch.
Note: There doesn't seem to be a parking lot, but there was no shortage of free street parking.
Got the Philly Cheesesteak special today, when I unwrapped it I was less than impressed visually, the cheese was under the steak and onion, but WOW, when I took a bite it was really, really good! Loaded with flavor and the bun was so fresh, I had to give 5 stars!
Love the employees and the food they offer is amazing and they have a wide variety of snacks and drinks you got to try it!
I love their food they make it just the way you want it...yummm!!
