Third or fourth time we've been to Sister's, and it has been excellent each time this time I had the Dublin Coddle, which is potatoes, sausage and bacon cooked in Guinness. Very tasty, and you could taste the Guinness clearly. There was enough that I had a very filling breakfast with the leftovers this morning.
My wife likes the Shepherd's (mutton) and Cottage (chicken) Pies, and she had some of hers left over for another meal as well.
The restaurant is a little niche in the Reed Opera House basement, and aside from the Coddle and Pies, everything is made on the spot when ordered - the Coddle is all cooked together through the day, and the Pies are assembled earlier in the day.
I cannot recommend this place enough - the food is good and your waitress will be the owner, a personable lady who is happy to talk to you.
Drop by - I recommend the early evening.
Fabulous food, great service! The desert was to die for! Since she’s the only place in Oregon that carries that wonderful Kilkenny Red, I’ll HAVE to go back! Our new favorite place, only an hour from home -
Seriously, the ambiance is cozy and comfy, and the music is that lively Irish toe tapping kind I love.
