Julie’s Hometown Diner

Everybody was talking about this new restaurant in Ste. Genevieve. We finally had the chance and try it out. Great home cooking, we all had something different, and they were delicious! The wife had catfish, I had the marble Frisco black Angus burger, and our Son had the farm sunrise burger(with an egg and bacon). Everything was done to perfection, and our server was friendly ,knowledgeable, and attentive. Folks this place was clean,looked like new tables and booths, and I think everything in the kitchen is brand new. This is a family restaurant, alcohol is not served, but the homemade desserts are to die for. Stop in ,grab a bite and relax, and enjoy! There are specials almost daily, and I hear she makes a mean lasagna and meatloaf. Crepes for breakfast, I dare you!

My wife and I ate supper here after the 2019 Hwy 61 Garage Sale. My wife had the Pork Steak Dinner, and liked it very much. She said the Banana Cream Pie was nasty. It was definitely not homemade. I had the Philly Steak Sandwich, and it was good, but very dry and not juicy at all. The flavoring of the peppers and onions were almost completely cooked away. We could tell that our waitress was very new, but she was very nice, and was trying real hard. We had no problems at all with her service. So, just an average small town diner with decent food and great service.

Had lunch and ended bring husband in fir supper. Food was served hot and was delicious. Had the Phillysteak sandwich for lunch...yum! Had the meatloaf special for supper. Will definitely come back and highly recommend this as a place with friendly and quick service with food filled with flavor and served in the best manner possible.

The good: The food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. The bad: We waited almost an hour for our food and we ordered 5 breakfast plates (Omlettes, meat, and hash browns). We did not get any refills on our drinks. Several patrons came in after us, ordered food, ate, and left before we got our food. In adddition, one of the breakfast plates came out with incorrect sides, then came back again with incorrect sides.

We went in there for breakfast food. WORST SERVICE EVER! The waitress (blonde girl with glasses) was on her phone while our food was sitting on the counter. She didn't bother serving it to us and our food was just sitting on the counter behind her for over 10 MINUTES. I even wanted to walk up and grab the food myself!! Plus the fact, we were the only patrons in the restaurant, so there was no reason the waitress was busy. We got our pancakes 10 minutes after it was sitting on the counter served by a waitress who was on her phone ignoring customers.The butter on the pancakes had already melted on the pancakes making it very soggy to eat. Gross, the bad service had ruined the food! We won't be back until that blonde waitress (her name started with a P) gets fired after her underperforming service.
