Down Home Elegant Dining

We were looking for something different and found it at Down Home Elegance. They do mostly carry out, but they did let us and some others eat in. The food was very good. The turkey ribs were smoked, and they were 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥, yes, I said turkey ribs. Go ask em were the rib comes from, and they'll tell you. The wing was baked, but it was good. The Yams were cooked perfectly. I would have liked a little more flavor in my greens, but they are not using any pork in them, for you all that don't eat pork. The cornbread dressing was just that, nothing super special. The food is good and satisfying, and I would recommend them as a go-to because we will go again. Also, I had a piece of Carrot Cake, of course, I ate it no picture. Give them a try if you ate ever in North St. Louis off I270, just before crossing back into Illinois. Very nice people, which is as important as the food.

The service was good but I had to wait on fish because they cook it to order so there were 5 orders of fish two before me an two behind me. So my fish came up after the peoples behind me I checked my order and my order wasn't complete I had to request the rest of my food and I was given a dessert for waiting so long. I asked for BBQ sauce on the side which I didn't get so the food was fair for my first time being there but it will be a long time before I go back.

Have gone 6 Sundays so far and have not been disappointed once. Turkey chops, BBQ rib tips, chicken quarters, greens, Mac and cheese, dressing and sweet potatoes are all 🔥 Update: food is still top notch but today eye asked for a certain turkey wing and the lady waited till eye turned around to give me the one eye didn't want anyway but eye didn't say anything and again the food is still 🔥
