I've been to Copia a few times over the past several years. They were closed for a long pause as they rebuilt after a fire. They were always good, but I think they're even better since they rebuilt. On my most recent visit the server was fantastic, the food was absolutely perfect, and the entire table (5 of us) had a great time. The only negatives of our recent meal were the noise level (which included music that kept getting turned up, then down, then up...so loud the waiter couldn't hear us), and the price tag. But when a meal is as good as ours was, the price is to be expected.
Great food and service - we wanted something light, nutritious and tasty within walking distance of our hotel. Exactly what we needed after a long day of travel food.
Had snacks and wine in the bar, very pleasant. Asked what the house labels were, and we're told they didn't have house labels, they had $5 glasses, which were whatever they had opened and extra. Asked for dry red, and the bartender brought us a wonderful red. He told us what it was, but today I can't recall. Had the cheese combo plate. Red grapes, raisins, a strawberry, and four slivers if different cheeses. Box type round crackers completed the plate. This was not a good value at $13, but considering the wine, the good service, the good music, and the atmosphere, it was a fair price for off/setting the alcohol. If we lived here, this would be a great mid-week visit.
This place has delicious gooey butter cake!
Amazing... our reservations were 15 min late but amazing food drinks and surroundings made up for it a thousand times over. We had drinks while we waited then amazing food. We loved it so much we headed to the back bar to have another drink by the fires... love it. Plus 5 dollar vallet doesnt get better

Wonderful evening. We had a Group on for this restaurant so we decided to go out for a "date night." We happened to go on a night that a jazz quartet was playing. May I say it was one of the best evenings we have had in a while. Our food was outstanding, the service (though they were confused on who was waiting on us at first) was top notch, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We were glad we had a coupon because it is high for our budget; definitely a "special occasion" spot.
Loved this place !. Great space, great service in the bar and wonderful and delicious food. When I come back to St. Louis, I'll be back. I had the lemon grass cured salmon and the pan roasted scallops. The offerings of wine by the glass had many interesting choices. While the scallops were not cooked quit right initially, they quickly re-made the entree and offered me a glass of wine while I waited. They were worth the wait, the flavors in the dish/broth as well as the scallops were delicious.
Great but........... We've been dining at Copia since they originally opened and have been back many times since the reopening. No complaints about the food. Everything that I've ever ordered has been excellent from the Scallops to the Prime Rib and calamari and ribs as appetizers are outstanding. My only complaint is that the patio is often closed for public dining on Saturday night for private parties. The ambiance inside is lacking unfortunately. Just another restaurant. It's the patio where the real personality of the restaurant shines so when it's unavailable we go elsewhere. A shame but too often true.
They're Back!. Just got back from dinner there this evening. Copia was one of our favorite restaurants back before the fire; we were so sad when it closed. Needless to say we were thrilled to hear they reopened. We were a little worried that it wouldn't be the same but they did not disappoint! The feel is still upscale but casual and they did a good job stepping up the interior decorations. The back garden is very nice still but has a full retractable roof so they can extend their season in St. Louis.
Now, the food. We had a jalapeno potato pancake with pulled pork BBQ for an appetizer that was amazing. Cesar salad was very good and the surf and turf filet with crab and hollandaise was incredible! Plus this was on a Monday and the food was still great.
The only small drawback is that their prices have gone up a bit from what they were before. Not out of line but they used to be an extremely good value. For me though it was WELL worth it!
Ended up here on a night out on wash ave. Popped in for a glass of wine and ordered the Clean Slate Riesling. The waiter came over with a plate of the deserts and unfortunately we had to pass because we were stuffed from dinner. The wine was amazing, although I wish they would have had flights. What’s a wine bar w/o flights?! I do want to go back to try that big azz piece of cake. I can probably share with about 10 people, lol! Photo Set Photo Set Nico food review. First time in this restaurant. We had a really great experience. Our bartender/ server was so fun and helpful with food and drink choices. We had the 16 oz New York strip with mushrooms, Troublemaker Red wine and a martini. Steak was perfection and the calamari was perfectly cooked and tender. Highly recommended.
I had the prime rib and my wife had a seafood special. Both were excellent. It was a little odd that we were the only customers but attributing to the fact that it was early Friday evening in downtown St Louis and most people had gone home. It is typically pretty busy during the week-both lunch and dinner-presumably a result of business travelers.
Delicious food, impressive & diverse wine selection, & their own special barrel-aged whiskey drinks on the bar - what an incredible place! Plus there is a huge dining/smoking area in the rear of the establishment that features a retractable roof for when the weather is fine. Can't wait to check out Copia during warmer weather.

Very good food and the service was outstanding. The steaks were cooked exactly as I wanted it. If anything was an issue, the staff immediately take care of it and remove it from my bill. This restaurant is a keeper...I hope it can stay open as downtown is struggling.

This was one of the best experiences dining out I have ever had. The service, the staff, the ambiance, and of course the food were terrific. Our server was Robbie and he went above and beyond to make our night out fantastic. We came as a recommendation from a friend and were treated so kindly by the management, hostesses, and of course our server who treated us like royalty. He made several excellent recommendations, understood our requests, accommodated our religion by not mixing meat and dairy, and timed everything perfectly. Our drinks were never unattended and our food was cooked to perfection. I have told more people in the last week about Copia then I have about anything my entire life! I am so pleased that after all these years I tried your place because you are now a go-to for me and my husband on our date nights. Thank you for the beyond excellent experience and I can't wait to dine in again.
The staff, food, and the atmosphere at The Copia was outstanding! They went above and beyond to make sure our table was served in a timely manner even with them having a big event happening in their ballroom! The manager came to our table to make certain our food was pleasing and also to see if we had any needs. The meals were very pleasing and fulfilling. This a place I would definitely recommend to anyone! I plan to return to the Copia!
Great atmosphere with an extensive menu and drink menu. The staff was exceptional and made my fiancee feel special on her birthday! The seafood and steaks are top notch. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu.
Fantastic wine selection - 600+ labels. The waiter was great to recommend unique wines and liquor. Cocktails were decent. Food was priced surprisingly reasonably. I'd go back, but it's not on the top of my list in the city.
