The staff was friendly, the food was good. There was a little bit of a wait, but my one experience may not be a good representative of the normal wait as there was a guy picking up an order for a significant amount of food. I like their 1/2 roll options so you can try more of what they have to offer. I had the Tiger Roll, 1/2 of a tempura roll, and 1/2 of a salmon roll with a complementary miso. I also had a soda and all this for $25! The food and service was great for a very good price. I highly recommend! And in my one experience, also ran into a local celeb!
I'd still call this "fast food," but it's tasty and isn't a greasy hamburger. The chicken teriyaki bowls are great, and the sushi tastes reasonably good. I don't think I've gotten anything here I wasn't happy with.
The people working here are always extremely friendly, and they have a rewards card that banks 10% of your tab on every visit so you can cash it out when you decide to have a free meal.
just had a bite to eat at San Sai Japanese Grill in Maplewood. Really a fast food take on Japanese-- though delicious--- but I have to say the customer service stood out so much that I would go back anytime if I knew the same two people would be taking orders! Service has to be particularly good to stand out when people are just taking orders-- no table service.
Two young men were taking orders and were personable, charming, informative and just downright nice. They recognized people coming in the door and called them by name, so it seems they have a following.
I hope the place realizes they have two gems!

I get the raw fish salad and love it. It's an healthier option and service is fast.

Good Japanese food. The main entre's are priced decent but the sides are rather expensive. Still, a GREAT alternative to burgers and fried chicken. A definite repeat for me. Great customer service and clean dining area as well.
There is not really anything else like it in St Louis. Fast sushi and Japanese type food. The staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Greg who has been there awhile. They also have some great tea options.

Their tempura is excellent. Tried it with sweet and sour sauce. A little bit spicy for me, but nothing if not adventurous.
A must try.
