400 Olive Modern American Bistro

We randomly stumbled in here out of sheer hunger and curiosity one day. That was over a year ago and we’ve been back many times since. One of our all time favorite spots and our go-to whenever we’re feeling something a little on the fancier side. Olive & Oak, in my opinion, meshes the worlds of casual and fine dining perfectly. The food is without a doubt the best of the best but the atmosphere isn’t uptight and pretentious. The staff is knowledgeable, down to earth, and friendly but they’ll still refill your wine glass of sparkling water for you without asking. Balanced as everything should be. Their menu is constantly changing, giving way to variety and exploration. The cloud cake dessert is absolutely insane - a must try. Just get it. My personal favorite thing on the menu, however, is the wings. Red coconut curry, maple, and ginger. Glazed bliss. The chicken itself is cooked perfectly and the meat is first-rate. 9.2/10 clucks.

Privately owned local fine dining with dramatic organic comfort fusion(?) menu. Healthy organic ingredients used to make some unique, some comfort options. Superb! Bar keeps the drink recipes just and fresh and unique while maintaining high standards for the mainstream options. Leave room for dessert, amazing options built to share. Service at both bar, patio and inside are top notch with an unusually experienced staff given post-covid norm. Place gets busy most nights around 6pm and doesn't seem to let up until 10pm or so. Plan accordingly, reservations recommended.

We had a great meal here. Fresh sourdough bread and compound butter were excellent, bread from Union Loafers. Started with the oysters, little smaller than others have had but good flavors. Watermelon salad with tahini dressing was fantastic, lots of juicy watermelon. Entree was the flank steak with red pepper purée, steak was tender but wished it was seasoned better. Coconut pie dessert was amazing. Verdict is we would go back again.

We had a great time at Olive + Oak ably served by Jordan ! Initially hesitant i was pleasantly surprised by the great Vegetarian fare dished out! The starters were amazing loved the Cheese curd and the Honey BBQ Hummus and the Roasted Cauliflower and recommend all three! Dinner saw us ordering the Dip and the Pita in sandwiches ! They served fries rice with quinoa patties! The Calabacitas is worth a try! The salads were great too! Ambience is good and service very pleasant! Would love to visit again

Simply amazing! 5 stars is not nearly enough. Everything we ordered, and we ordered a lot, was a culinary masterpiece. I’ve included many pictures of the food drinks and menu. The menu changes regularly but there are some staples. From the Gazpacho Sipper, a tart green tomato pineapple delight to the melt in your mouth cowboy ribeye for two to the blistered tomato with lemon curd goat cheese that could almost be a dessert to the actual dessert cloud cake. We loved everything. Brittany was our server and she was a fun part of our party. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves on their presentation. Olive and Oak is one of the best restaurants in St. Louis!
