I’m from out of town, staying in the Dogtown neighborhood and stumbled upon this place. I’m vegetarian and was surprised they had multiple meatless bbq options on their menu. I ordered the smoked seitan. It was the best meat substitute I’ve ever had! Multiple sauce options on the side, delicious vegetarian bbq baked beans, prompt and friendly service at the bar. I will definitely return when I’m back in town.
Great place! Wonderful business partners committed to the Dogtown neighborhood. And they make great beer! But the best kept secret: amazing vegetarian food! Seitan and tofu BBQ and the best vegetarian Reuben in the history of human history.
Great beers ( with names like The Velvet Underbrown & New Kids On The Bock) and BBQ what more could you ask for ?
How about friendly staff and good music.Yet another reason to come to the Dogtown neighborhood. "this place rocks" Highly recommended.
Notice this place one night when I was in dogtown I park near by there and smelled the beer they were brewing I had to go in !! Glad I did !! The variety of beers I had were good !! The joint has a rock n roll theme to it I'm a rocker that's a plus !! Last couple times I've been there I've gotten the grub it's bbq menu witch is pretty good too but the beers are the stars of this place ! But I always looking forward going back there especially the people siting next to me order bbq nachos they looked very good so I need to get back there soon !! Arrr
The best craft beer! They know what they are doing!
Love the atmosphere and the people
Highly recommend
One of the stops on Brewery Tours is St. Louis, and quite possibly my favorite! I had the Prison Bound APA and the Strummin NE and Left Coast Envy IPA’s, as well as sips of my friend’s beers and all were delicious! Only had 30 minutes, but I can’t wait to come back to try more beers and the food menu!!!!! I wish there was an option for 6 stars!
Tommi- The Tap Takeover was a huge success at Fletchers last night!! Thanks so much for the great hospitality with my guests and staff. We all throughly enjoyed you, and the amazing . Feel free to bring the vanilla coffee in a personalized mug for me. Look forward to bringing my staff there on a field trip. Thanks again!
Great beer, friendly service, and good atmosphere. One of my favorite breweries so far. These guys create some 'must have' pales and IPA's.
I was here yesterday. Had a flight and the best beer was the Vanilla Coffee. Will be back to try the food.
Great food and beer. Huge sandwich made with quality ingredients, great choice of brews. I will be back.
This place rules. Best sours. Best coleslaw. Best owners/staff.
I’ve only had their “Love Gun” beer. It’s a vanilla cream ale that has a heavy vanilla flavor with a beer undertone. I like sweeter drinks and hate the sharp, back-of-the-throat flavor of other highly rated beers. If you do too, this is your ale. 10/10 would recommend and drink frequently!
Great place for unique beers. They have a huge selection of house made draft beers. Lot of people sleep on their food but it is very good as well. Try the Rueben, it will not disappoint. They also have an amazing patio when the weather is nice.
Took advantage of the flight offering to sample a few varieties. The beers were all tasty. Ordered the soft pretzels with beer cheese dip. They were more like wheat breadsticks, but soft and dense — great vehicle for the beer cheese dip. Healthy crowd for a Monday afternoon. Picked up some merch too. We’ll be back.
I have loved Heavy Riff beer for years and wanted to love their location just as much. However, for a place called Heavy Riff, I was expecting heavy metal and a rock music vibe. Instead it was laid back music with a different feel than I was expecting.
Food was wonderful, beer is amazing, and the staff was great.
Set up was clumsy, directed to bar first for drinks told to go to table to get a number than come back to bar to order food. Felt like a lot of back and forth/double paying. Drinks were good, slightly warmer than would like for beer. Food was good but not impressive, generic flavors.
Delicious smoked turkey! We had the turkey nachos and the turkey salad, and both were great. The gin barrel aged gose was lovely.
Loved it here! Every beer was excellent, really great vibe and design. My favorite in the STL area!
Hands down my favorite brewery in St. Louis. I wish I was closer! Stopped in for a drink on the patio and to stock up on Happy Jack while it's in season.
I absolutely love this brewery. I never have any issues finding something I like with the 31 different taps. Everyone is always friendly and I love that each beer is named after a song or musician.
So happy to have Heavy Riff in the neighborhood. We already loved their amazing selection and food but now that they have a nice covered outdoor area it is the perfect place to grab a drink after work.
Was pleasantly surprised about this place. The food was really good and different to the traditional St Louis bar menu so don't expect wings and toasted ravioli in this place. But what you get are great salads, nachos and the very tasty and surprised hit the spent grain beer bread. The service was quick and the beers good. Worth the visit.
Had a great time here. Really enjoyed all the beers, especially the brown ale. Food is fantastic. If I lived here I would be a regular.
Best beer I have ever tasted at any brewery
Great brewery. Good selections and service. Worth checking out if you appreciate craft beer.
Oktoberfest beer was fantastic, and the service was great, too. Very personable bar tenders.
Great beer - outstanding Blue Cheese Salad and damn those beans!!! Wow!!
