This place is truly phenomenal. I love the atmosphere everytime I've come in. The staff is always very friendly and the food is so delicious. I enjoy the beer as well as the fantastic cocktails. The live music is always a treat. The building itself is unique and neat. I would recommend everyone to come check it out. I love bring family and friends to hangout, they are never disappointed.
Arrived at opening and they were only seating outside that day. Had the schnitzel sandwich which was good and they opened up the building for us to roam through. It is a very interesting piece of history. Really enjoyed this place. They has a live band tuning up outside when we were leaving.
Das Bevo is a unique and historic St. Louis treasure built by the Busch family themselves in 1917. I visited here for the first time for a beautiful June wedding. The venue was absolutely perfect for the couple's needs. Complete with historic charm, gorgeous vaulted ceilings, breathtaking art, and Frankenstein-like details on the top level.
I was surprised that the mill didn't cater the wedding as they were or are a restaurant. On the main level is a large dining room with a vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden beans, and an intimate room used for the ceremony and later dancing. In between the ceremony and dinner, guests were asked to wait on the patio outside as they removed seating from the ceremony and transformed it into a dance floor.
I discovered a full spacious basement which had an enclosed room, a larger dining area, and a small stage. Upstairs there are 2 or 3 levels used for the wedding party to get ready primarily. One floor below the very top is a very neat and hidden away room with a few tables and a chandelier. Windows on all sides open up to views of the city and the mill turning. At the very top is a room where the mill is powered.
A historic windmill shaped building on a triangular plot. At the intersection of Morganford and Gravois. A German beer hall that serves excellent food. The intricate wooden frame work and statues decorating interior and exterior of the building. I would guess they could seat 100 people upstairs and 100 people downstairs. They serve bratwurst and sauerkraut, pretzels with beer cheese, schnitzel (breaded pork chops). They routinely play live local music on Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday. They have an outdoor garden and amphitheatre for performances.
Over all our experience was great & we had a wonderful tour & learned great history! It’s really beautiful and something to at least tour once! I would love to come back!
Was there for a special candle light performance. The atmosphere was incredible! Service at the bar was a little slow. Seemed at least one bartender was not too familiar with the ringing up the sale.
Fun place. It's been a very long time since I visted. The food is good. The staff was very friendly and diverse, and I enjoyed the whole vibe on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Live music, brunch, and bottlomless mimosas. Very reasonably priced as well!
Good brunch. I am only disappointed as my memories of this place in the past was much more grand. Loved the live music. Wish they had table service instead of having to go to the bar and order.
Located in south Saint Louis.
We had a great brunch! We were able to make reservations to hold our place. The music was fantastic- Spencer has a great voice and has good crowd interaction.
Amazing history and stunning architecture in a old beer hall. Sausage supper platter comes with a free beer when in special for $18. Spicy sausage was great, beer cheese is memorable. Ambiance is a 10, staff was friendly and helpful. Fried Sauerkraut balls sounded like a bad idea but ended up being my favorite thing of the night. Gave it a 4 out of 5 due to the pricing, it seems just a tad high but then again it feels good supporting a local institution.
I passed by and saw this incredible Mill and had to check. Is so precious that Saint Louis has a place like this. So much character and history. Authentic and yummy German Food. And their warm delicious pretzels are simply unforgettable. We order a tray with sausages, pretzel and potatoes. Yummy mustard too. Friendly and attentive team makes you feel home. Take a moment to admire all the details including that amazing fireplace.

Absolutely stunning wedding venue. I love the charming rustic, yet inviting atmosphere. As a wedding venue das Bevo has so many truly unique spots to offer - the bridal suite and grooms quarters, the dramatic staircase, the Milltop - a room that features a beautiful chandelier and scenic view while windblades swoosh by the windows - this unique venue is every wedding photographers dream!
Food was great, beer garden is not air conditioned nor are the bathrooms available on the patio which is where you will eat unless you reserved space inside or bad weather. Though it doesn't bother me much I figured I'd say it for our older folks in case they wanted to patron this place, it's not written on their website and honestly their website is lackluster in terms of the menu or people not looking to book parties in terms of information available. I have also uploaded high res images of the current menu since others decided to photograph it with a potato.
