Stumbled in by accident & been coming back ever since. The staff is always friendly...the food & hh "snacks" are fabulous. It's okay to come for just a cocktail or stay for dinner (blackboard nightly chef specials). A lot of the patrons seem to be regulars and are also very nice and entertaining. In all my travels I've never had a dining experience like WEGAP! There's no place like it!
Spent the morning wondering around near the St. Louis Cathedral. Wandered over to the West End Grill and pub for an excellent lunch. Had the chefs burger which was outstanding
Truly the best food I have had. I have never posted a review before but after dinner on Wednesday I returned Saturday for brunch with my neighbors. Wednesday we started with the flatbread tacos (my daughter loved them so much she wanted to have them for dinner as well) and the hummus (a great vegetarian option) that was made to perfection. I had the crab cakes, which have now become my new favorite food; my husband had the Trout (which was delicious). Our friends had the Chicken under the Brick and the Scallops. I was able to convince my daughter to try something new even though she fell in love with the Flatbread Tacos and her Vegetarian Stir-Fry was perfect...not too spicy for a seven year old yet very tasty. Brunch today did not disappoint. The owner stopped by and introduced himself and told us about the Pub Club, which was really sweet. Bloody Mary's were a perfect addition to our breakfast. Thank you for the great meals and I can't wait to come back.
Good stir fry. Good stir fry. Been there a few times. I agree one of the other reviews that some of the staff are aloof. They are nice there. Portions sizes are good. It is clean inside. Are they gluten free friendly?
One word: LOVE. Great atmosphere, drinks, service, and most importantly the food... From dessert to brunch (the salmon omelet was fantastic!), I have yet to be disappointed. Prices arent terribly low, but very very fair value for the quality of the dishes served. Great menu variety too. Pretty cool that they donate $ for "points" earned on their frequent flier card program too, a unique & meaningful perk. I plan to return frequently!
Best Kept.... Best kept secret in Saint Louis dining. Service, ambiance, everything about it reminds me I'm not in Saint Louis anymore. Try the mussels if you know what's good for you and I've never had a special I haven't raved about.
Great Place!!! You have to try the mussels!!!. As a self-proclaimed foodies, I must say that this place is great. I have been in the STL area for only a few months, and have been here twice already for dinner. We tried it first using a Groupon and loved the food. The portions are good and the service is friendly. You have to try the mussels if nothing else, the sauce they come with is amazing. We take it home with us. I also tried the pork porterhouse, carb cakes, and pork tenderloin (not all at once :-)). It is a hidden jewel off the beaten path.

Wonderful. We had a Groupon and so we went this evening after my rehearsal. Our waiter, Nolan, was excellent. He was knowledgeable and very attentive but did not hover. My boyfriend had the sonoma steak which was delicious. Cooked just how he wanted and accompanied by potatoes and zucchini. He loved it all (which is surprising because he said he does not like zucchini). I had the grilled salmon with brussel sprouts (which I wanted to switch out for something else) and turnip cakes (which I also wanted to change out). I took Nolan's advice and tried both. I have to say that I have now become both a fan of the b sprouts and turnips. They were delicious. Go try if you want to have a good evening with definite tv access for the games,
Simply amazing: my fiancé and I love the wine selection, the great atmosphere, and the fantastic food. You must try the mussels.....perfection.
Love this place. Great place with phenomenal food. Staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel like a regular after just one visit. Has a neighborhood bar kind of feel. Great brunch specials on the weekends and I've eaten there several times and found the food to be fantastic.
After a long day at the zoo we found this little place ducked off In the middle of the street and the food was excellent. The chicken fettuccine, BBQ nuggets, Along with a hot wing appetizer set the meal off. If you are in the area you better try the west end pub and grill out.
If you're not familiar, this little block has become a mini Grand Center, with two very cool, intimate theaters that show off local talent, and attract small acts from all over. WEGAP, home to the Gaslight Theater, is the perfect place for pre-show dinner date. Great food and impressive wine list, priced just right!
WEGAP also is just a great neighborhood hangout spot, with a full bar and lots of locals swapping stories, great place for making new friends. Pull up a chair and chime right in on the topic du jour!
Parking is free, unlike in most of the Central West End, and easy to find. Better yet, grab an Uber--those cocktails are strong!
The food was great especially the sweet and sour pot stickers 🥟. They were vegetable and chicken. The waiter was very nice, as was the atmosphere.
Great patio, excellent for bringing your pooch. Food and service is excellent. Gary is first rate with customer service.
Fun little place on the edge of the Central West End in St. Louis. It is attached to the Gaslight Theater. Nice atmosphere, decent cocktails, and a great neighborhood feel. Server was great and steered us well. Had a wonderful pork chop with rosemary potatoes. The fries were yummy. Check it out, you'll enjoy!
I went there with my friend for dinner. Great place. Amazing atmosphere. Everything was well organised.
Absolutely the best spot we could have picked prior to "2 Cello's" at the Fox. Food was excellet. Very good selection of local craft beers on tap. We ordered two specials..per waiters suggestion. Schnitzel and Spaetzle, and a seafood stir with angel hair pasta and spinach. Chef does a very good job of blending the spices and flavors! Both excellent choices. Also the fried cauliflower was the best I've had. Service was spot on. Will definitely be back. Would like to try out the small artist "Gaslight Theater" in the same building sometime.
2 Dinners, a couple drafts, coffee, and a very good peach cobbler with mint ice cream came to a very reasonable $72..I think a good deal for the quality provided. We try and do this kind of trip once a month and look for the quality spots. This is a good one.
Nice lively atmosphere when full, homey reflective space when there's room. I was visiting town and asked local friends to show me their favourite haunt. West End Grill is a good choice. Southern cooking with a modern flare, and a good selection of hard-to-pronounce local beers. If you're looking for a place that's just like your favourite place at home, with a creative southern flair, I'm happy to recommend West End Grill and Pub. Clean, safe, good service, good food and drink. Cheers!
My wife and I visited the Cottage Grill on a Friday night. We were greeted by the owner with a smile and seated almost immediately in a crowded restaurant. Menu was very diverse and our meals were served hot and delicious. Our server did a wonderful job and really added to the experience. In an area where we have a...
West End Grill and Pub (WEGAP!) is a great place for dinner. The food is excellent, and the service is impeccable, Logan, the chef is creative with the offerings, I enjoyed the bacon wrapped shrimp, the calamari (light, meaty with a great sauce) and the brown sugar pork chops with rosemary potatoes and seared aspargus. (tender and tasty). We finished by sampling to deserts (chocolate cake - decedent and apple tart - delicious)
We are definitely heading back!
