We visited Mama Toscano's on the hunt for toasted ravioli. They called them t-ravs here, which is probably the most adorable thing I've ever heard.
Located on the Hill, Mama Toscano's is an order and go kind of place -- there are just a few tables outside if you wanna stick around with your food. We did!
The ordering process was a little confusing: there's a cash register up front, as you enter the store, but you gotta go a little further back to the deli counter and order. However, the people working (including a father-daughter duo, which was super sweet - I wonder if they own the place?) were incredibly friendly and did all they could to answer our questions and get our food out to us quickly.
Of course, I had the original ravioli. The pizza version sounded tempting, but I wanted to keep it simple and not mess up a good thing. My boyfriend had a meatball sandwich on garlic cheesy bread. Both were delicious! The ravioli were a little thicker/with more filling in the middle than I've had in the past, but they were yummy and crispy and the marinara dipping sauce was lovely. The meatball sub had perfect ratios, not too bready like it often is, and so gooey and cheesy! We definitely enjoyed our visit here.

Food was excellent! Free street parking just outside. It’s more of a takeout place but there are some tables on the street outside. Also note the prices I saw posted online are incorrect. I got the toasted ravioli and a sub and it was $18.87. Worth every dime!

Our first visit to St Louis we wanted to try some local flavor. Mama Toscanos was recommended. We were not disappointed. We chose the variety of all three t-ravs. All delicious but pizza being our favorite. It's a small little restaurant with seating out front. Everyone was super nice and despite being slammed for lunch they were very quick! We opted to take our food up the street to the park to enjoy a picnic.

Found this via a Google search for toasted cheese raviolis in STL. We are road-tripping through Missouri so we HAD to get a local specialty. Definitely stop in here! The Hill is such a quaint area with so many options and there is nothing better than supporting a small business. The staff is so awesome!! We tried the eggplant parm sandwich and the ricotta/spinach ravioli. Absolutely yummy! No seating inside so hope for good weather and open spot outside. We went around 3 pm so it wasn't busy. Highly recommend Mama Toscanos if you're in St. Louis!

Absolutely delicious. Got the original toasted ravioli. So tasty. The meatball sub was fantastic as well. Look. Is it heavy food? Yes. Is it going to weigh you down? Sure. Is it absolutely worth it? Yes. Definitely. I would ear here. Also the people are friendly and fun.went at a weird time so not sure how crowded it usually is and there is no seating. Beside a couple of outdoor tables. But. Yum. Go here.

We get their meat sauce every year for Christmas.cwe used to use an old family receptor from Stan Muscial and Biggies restaurant that used to be near the hill but this sauce is better and easier to just buy.
We also purchase it during other times but always at Christmas dinner.
Their Raviolis ate some of the best around.
I have had their Deli sandwiches and have enjoyed them also.
You will not be disappointed with anything you get here.

Roast Beef sandwich was amazing! Must try. Ordered the ravioli sampler and the pizza flavor was our favorite. Raviolis are small - snack size. Not much to fill you up. Kind of pricey

DELICIOUS!! Our first time trying toasted ravioli and loved it!! We also got their signature roast beef sandwich and really enjoyed that also. Service was great, so friends and prices were amazing.

Love to get the chance to visit iconic places in St Louis. This establishment has been around for almost 100 years. We enjoyed meeting the owner, but unfortunately not his wife, and really liked the $7 Special Salsiccia Sandwich and Awesome Ravioli! We ate early and sat outside by ourselves. Highly Recommended!
