We went on the coolest day of the month and it was empty. Loved the service and the food was good. The staff was eccentric and tentative to our needs. Both dinner plates are worth their price that we paid. Get the Groupon it's worth it.
Best Italian restaurant in St. Louis. Everything here is wonderful! The wait staff is very attentive, and polite. The food is a great value! All entrees come with a salad and side dish! I recommend this restaurant to everyone! I will definitely be back soon! Make the trip and visit!
Excellent Dining Experience. Great atmosphere, service and most importantly food. We had the fettucini alfredo, salad and cheesecake. Yum.
Stated at table... "this is the best fettucini I have ever had."
Very Good. Veal dishes are superb. Salmon with shrimp sauce is outstanding and the
Shrimp scampi is unbeatable. Add to that friendly service and you have a
most enjoyable evening.
Such a great Italian restaurant. In a city filled with Italian food, this place's food is way above the pack. Tortellini, Veal Milanese, and Chicken Romano among my favorites.
Tortelloni to die for. I am absolutely hooked on their Tortelloni Al Boscaiola.
Almost like Mamma. I've had just about every dish in this establishment. The first time I had the tomato sauce I smiled wide and said that this concoction was almost as good as my Mamma used to make. I'm Italian, THAT says something! The atmosphere is exceptionally friendly and the pricing is outstanding considering the fine dining you will experience.
This place great! food is.... This place is great! food is excellent, and the service is outstanding--perfect balance of attentiveness without being overbearing. we discovered this place on accident, after finding our first choice had closed. not having been here before, we felt a little under-dressed first walking in (and we had two young kids). but the wait staff still gave us first class service and they were very sweet with the youngins. everyone enjoyed their meal, but the lobster ravioli was the real star. now we go back often--highly recommended.
This place was so nice... If your tired of chain restaurants, this is the place 👌. We were visiting st.louis. searched the area for places to eat. Previous reviews were good.
Our waiter and his table helper were fantastic. The staff is very polite and helpful.
Our food was delicious. Everything was cooked very well.
You have got to finish your meal with a brandy Alexander. (vanilla ice cream with cognac )...
Come here for the food, but stay for the service. Jimmy is a delight! I will come back just for him. If he's not here, I'm not coming. He was friendly, helpful, and so nice! I appreciated all his suggestions. We had the Calamari Fritti to start, very yummy and hot! The soup of the day was very good as well. The special was this amazing filet. We also had the Chicken Romano. Both dishes were cooked beautifully and the portions were huge! I cannot stress enough how wonderful the food and service are. Definitely will be back and ask Jimmy!
Great dinning experience all around.
Service is prompt, attentive, but not intrusive if you want to sit and talk before or after eating. They never rush you to order or leave.
The facility is well maintained, neat, clean, with muted colours and design. The bathrooms are well lighted, fairly accessible, clean, and well supplied.
Food selection is excellent, more traditionally prepared Italian fare, from pasta and carne to salads and fish. I've had over a dozen meals of a variety of proffered entrees, all have been
exceptional in preparation, presentation, and flavor.
Pricing is reasonable for what you get, but that metric is subjective, so see for yourself. I've yet to be disappointed.
Overall the food was excellent! I’m not much of a spring mix salad person but that’s my fault for ordering that instead of a Caesar. The drinks were a good pour and the dessert was excellent! Tiramisu
Frankie was our waiter. If you get him you won’t be disappointed! He is very attentive and nice and he is very knowledgeable of the menu and the specials.
This is a special, quaint spot for great Italian. I discovered this place through friends. The owner is always there to greet you. He's a very nice person who cares about his customers. I received a hug from him last time I was there. If you haven't been you need to check it out.
We decided to have dinner here just on a whim. This is a really nice restaurant with top notch service. I ordered the chicken al vino bianco and it was the juiciest chicken I think I have ever had! The vegetable soup was the soup of the day and it was also amazing. The other two dishes we ordered were the veal marsala and the veal alla Parmigiano, both of which were fantastic! I would recommend dressing on the nicer side; I was definitely under dressed but treated fine all the same. :) I have a broken leg with a scooter and our server took the time to walk me to the restroom and open the door for me and then waited outside until I was done to open the door so I could get out easily and head back to the table. I will absolutely be back again! This is a must try if you haven't already.
Food was excellent, albeit pricey for the main entrees. A great place to eat for special occasions and gatherings. Recommend but keep in mind the pricing. Google will have you believe it costs the same as Applebee's.
I have dined at Trattoria countless times. The menu offers something for everyone. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. I have enjoyed a variety of entrees over the years and it is hard to pick a favorite - but the pork chops are high on my list. On a recent visit Jimmy was attentive and friendly offering his opinion pertaining to several dishes when solicited. Bottom line - if you want a great dining experience at a reasonable price Trattoria Toscano is the place to dine. BTW - they make the perfect Bloody Mary.
Service, food, and atmosphere were exceptional. I would consider this a "special occasion " restaurant...at least for my pocketbook. Great place if you don't care to lighten your wallet .
Another great meal at Trattoria Toscana! This is a hidden gem in South St Louis County. The food is excellent and the service is excellent. We had Chicken Spedini and Linguine Tutto Mare. Salads, bread, and side vegetables were flavorful. They have a robust wine list as well as a full bar. The ambience is comfortable and our experience was quite pleasant. We even have leftovers for another meal!
