My husband and I went there Friday night and it was incredible. I truly felt like eating there was more than going out to dinner, it was an experience!! We found the groupon, wanted to do something different, and I am so happy we did!! We will definitely be back!! He had the President Reagan pasta and I had the fettuccine with proscuitto and both were delicious!! Portions weren't large by any means but totally appropriate, we both left full and happy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special occasion dinner.
The food was very nice, definitely upscale. Portions were also good, service was very attentive. This is an upscale place servers wearing tuxes and the prices match it. Atmosphere was also quite nice, it has served three presidents and catered Ronald Reagans inaugural dinner. Very cool!

We stumbled upon this little Italian place where everyone from the valet to the wait staff were gracious and helpful. I couldn't decide on anything and the waiter helped me choose a great appetizer and entree! We meet the actual Giovanni and his wife and they were very kind. We'll definitely be back next time we visit St. Louis!
The atmosphere is absolutely amazing!!! The dining area reminds me of what it would be in little Italy. James was our waiter and made the entire party feel so welcomed. Will be here again!!! The halibut was phenomenal!!! Thank you so much for a great experience!!!
It is truly the most amazing Italian restaurant in St. Louis. Everything is so delicious and is incredibly fresh. It almost ruins any experience you have going anywhere else for Italian. That says a lot in a city filled with great Italian restaurants. It is a perfect destination for something special or just to treat you, a date, parents, whatever! Great for catering and banquets too!
We had excellent service and excellent food! I can't remember our appetizer name but it was little pockets of homemade cheese that were cooked to perfection. The caesar salad was great and the Involtini di Pollo alla Presidente Bush was plate-licking good. Yes, they are expensive but the quality of the food and the personal service you receive is well worth the price. If you can't afford to go often then this is the place you take someone special - can't go wrong! Enjoy!
Giovanni may have impeccable food, but he is a sadist of a human being. Some people may only care about the service and the food provided, but I am here to tell you that you shouldn't be wasting your money on an establishment that abuses their workers. After a visit to his restaurant, I was left appalled. After a lackluster dinner, I had the unpleasant experience of having to over hear him berate his waiters for things which were out of their control; i.e. age and body image. I do not suggest that anyone visit this establishment less they enjoy listening to an enraged man verbally abuse his employees.
Don't forget to try the new location, "Giovanni's Kitchen", 8831 Ladue Road, Saint Louis, MO 63124, everything is fantastic. [[Everything about this place is awesome! I absolutely love this place. I have been a few times. It can be pricey so it's every once in a great while. Took my mom to celebrate her birthday. Couldn't ask for a better place. My mom is Italian and extemely picky and she actually thought it was good. They even brought out a desert to celebrate! Wonderful experience.

The restaurant has that old world charm that you can't find anymore.The veal was mouth watering!! For the dessert we had the Zabligione! It was habit forming!

Giovanni's was delicious, from the atmosphere to the food, the preparation, & presentation of the meals was exquisite. & the waiters were impeccable! Just a great evening!
