This is a go to place for me and my wife on our anniversary. We will be there tomorrow night. A couple days early for our anniversary. Great food. Wonderful staff.
Update: We couldn't make the dinner. Sorry Jim. However, we did make it for lunch and, as usual, the service was impeccable and the food was phenomenal. A shout out to our server, Tierra, and to the manager, Thomas. Wonderful service from the both of you. Delightful atmosphere. Definitely worth the 2+ hour drive.
It's been well over 10years since I've stepped foot in this place, so I was a little skeptical especially with downtown restaurants! Today, we had the pleasure of being served by Taylor-she was awesome! We ordered these 32oz margaritas that were $13+/ea., but were hella nasty!! I mean they looked good(def wasn't 32oz glasses either), but it tasted like it was made with diet crystal lite😳-she must've seen my face when I took the first sip or something cuz she came back super quick to ask if I liked it lol!! My husband wanted to be modest, but the drink ain't cheap and I honestly told her I've Been bamboozled and we switched them to tequila sunrises! My seafood pasta was delicious and hubby loved his food too...the Asiago Dip tho😇🥲😛
My very first time dining in was this year back in June and I’m saddened that the impact of COVID-19 took a toll on this Saint Louis Original. I’ve been quite a few times in the past few months and despite the short staff, I was provided with the same quality experience every time. I STILL recommend stopping in for a bite. Kudos to the kitchen and wait staff for holding on during this time.
After failed reservation at another place! Caleco was able to accommodate our party. The service and the food was amazing.
The Chicken Carbonara and the BBQ Porksteak was so soft and delicious! For dessert we ordered the Cheesecake, the Guey butter cake and the Blondie brownie, what can I said I will definitely visit again when in St. Louis.
Thanks for great service and food
Came here for lunch after visiting the Gateway Arch. And despite the initial warnings that there may be a wait time, it didn't feel all that long at all. The servings were enormous and everything was delicious. We had gotten a ribeye sandwhich, a cheesesteak, a hot roast beef sandwhich and a chicken Parmesan, all with fries with the addition of me getting "pasta with white sauce". My pasta was a little late in getting to me, so I started on everything else. And when the pasta got to me, I was pleasantly dissapointed with non-long noodles and instead a short pasta. And then we started eyeballing other peoples food, lol. Everything looks so good and it's too bad that we're not staying here for a few days instead of a few hours 😁
Had chicken carbonara with marinara sauce, club sandwich. Great food and atmosphere. Was busy since the cards won and people were celebrating. Big portions and delicious food. Med price but worth it.
We enjoy sitting at the bar so we can watch them make our drinks!
The salad with the hot bacon salad dressing is amazing!! The provel cheese is the icing on the salad! Don’t forget to ask for the hot bread rolls too!
We enjoy ordering the sandwiches! I recently had their club sandwich.
Pizzas are also great! But don’t be afraid to order anything on their menu!
Way to go. Service was fast, food was hot, and loved the music. The steak and potato soup makes you want seconds and thirds. Pizzas are really good for the crust pizzas. The meatball sandwich could use more marinara. Ask for a side of it.
The menu is massive. So much stuff it’s distracting.
I loved this place, fast easy service. And super food, the chicken carbona was so good. Creamy, peepery just exploded with flavor. I cleaned the plate. And the view right out the door was great! This place is so cool. Perfect portion and still that flavor I can't stop thinking about it.
Descent place with a nice view of the Arc; I had a very pleasant server who was helpful pointing out local favorites. They just need to do a better job of welcoming people when they come through the door. I entered the restaurant from what I thought was the main entrance; I stood there for a little over a minute until another customer pointed out that the hostess podium was on the other side of a dividing wall. I was seated next to the very door I entered and had to direct a few folks who came in towards the direction of the podium; I feel like I should get a commission or something; but either than that it was a descent place, no modern frills but it has a very local feel if you want something uniquely St Louis
