OMG! Steaks were amazing! Had salad with the house dressing, Porterhouse and a loaded baked potato and a Bloody Mary. It was all amazing. Bar service was a little slow but the BM was well made. Will definitely return next time in town.
Disappointed in the Chicken Sandwich:
We both ordered chicken sandwiches with fries and a tea for $10.41 plus tip not a bad deal.
Both of us agreed the chicken was ok but we will never get that again here, chewy tough chicken and the fries under cooked.
We did agree we both would like to try the burgers or a steak, so we will be returning.
Our waitress Amanda L. kept our tea glasses full and checked to make sure we was two happy guys.
We asked for to go cups and that's all she brought was two empty cups , guess she thought we collect cups LOL.
Anyway we will return and try a steak or burger ...
Thanks for the cups Amanda LOL
For the price, these are probably the best steaks in town! I heard that their pizza is also very good. Good thing I live very close. Will be back to try the pizza!
Nice neighborhood food joint. I know there are a few of these around the St.Louis area but I ate at this one recently and had a 14 ounce ribeye special cooked medium rare of course with a loaded baked potato, salad with blu cheese dressing and Guiness (nectar of the gods). All was good, service, food and atmosphere.
Mortin's Eat your Heart Out. While visiting over the holidays, we had a hankering for a good steak. While the 'big boys' were all available ( Motrin's, Capital Grill, Mike Shannon's), why spend an arm and a leg on a steak. But then we found Tucker's Place. What a blessing. Tucked away in a lovely brownstone on a south back street, it is a true find. I honestly could not believe the menu when I looked over it. The prices were awesome. I ordered 'the special' a one pound, that's right, a one pound filet mignon, with salad and a loaded baked potato for $25. And it was truly wonderful, no Outback Steakhouse here, Properly cooked, wonderfully seared, an outstanding hunk of prime beef. Michelle had the 8oz filet, again outstanding. My son chose the 16oz New York strip and added grilled shrimp, all for $25. This place is highly recommended for any one who wants a steak and not have to visit a bank for a loan before hand.
Surprise yourself .... Since I have been going to Tucker's since they opened their doors, this review is skewed BUT surprise yourself ! Sure they have the best priced and tastiest steaks in the City , BUT when you want an amazing chop, phenomenal burger, or a stellar pizza Tucker's WILL surprise you because they are all on par with the ever famous Tucker's steaks. ...And one more surprise ? Try the Riff-Raff wings. A fiery surprise in what appears to be naked wing... Nice !
I've eaten my way through the menu more times than I can count, but shrimp poppers, surf and turf specials, and Prime Time Tuesdays never cease to amaze ! Wine selection and beers to compliment so just go and quit reading !
This a great place to eat!!!!!! The food and service was awesome! Great steaks and huge baked potatoes, fresh salad and soft dinner rolls. I love this place and will definitely go back.
Great dinner!. We went here a few weeks back and they had a surf n turf special that was awesome! We had great service food portions were huge for the cost we will most defiantly be back!
Pretty good and a good value. Interesting set up, not too casual, but not too formal either. You get a lot of food for what you pay, worth a visit
Value. The quality of the pork and beef relative to price point is exceptional. Love Tucker's... :)
We were recommended this place by our hotel concierge and while it was good it wasn't great! The wife ordered a medium fillet because more often than not they come out undercooked and even asking for a medium it was rare for me who likes medium rare to rare. My ribeye was also ok but not great all in all the dinner was a success but nothing extraordinary. With all the options around I'd be inclined to try somewhere else next time but it has a following and it's fans so I'd encourage you to form your own opinion on this one.
Visited for lunch and a celebration with co-workers. The lunch was good and nice place too sit in December by a fireplace. The salmon was good but a bit over cooked and was a taste of dry, not sure if it was fresh or not. Potato on the side 'loaded' help take that dryness from a fish with the sour cream, butter, and cheese. Tables were interesting to sit at, 2 square ones and a round but it fit okay with all of us.
Stopped in for the first time on a Tuesday night before Thanksgiving. Both servers Gabby and Melissa gave me prompt and exceptional service. The servers’ assistants were also very attentive when I needed a plate cleared or more water. I ordered the grilled shrimp per the server’s seafood recommendation and I was pleasantly surprised not only by the flavor and spice of the shrimp but also that it came with a dinner salad and baked potato. Their house dressing was one of the flavor highlights - as it had a great balance of lemon, pepper, and a sweet vinegar taste. Portions are very generous given the affordable prices on the menu. 10/10 recommend and will be going back!
The steaks here are legendary. Best tip is to get extra seasoning.
Wife and I came in for a late lunch. The onion rings are unbelievable and you get a ton of them. The burger is a half pound of heaven. Mine was cooked perfectly medium. It was inhaled. Sorry no pictures. My wife got the loaded bake potatoe. I swear it was the size of a nerf football! Packed with bacon and cheese. She loved it.
Other notable sandwiches are the steak and cheese and the pork tenderloin.
Tucker's Place in Soulard feels like a steakhouse in your grandma's dining room. The cozy, homey atmosphere instantly sets the tone for a casual and relaxed dining experience. We started our meal with the potato skins, fried zucchini sticks, and jalapeño poppers with Gouda soup, all of which were delicious. Beyond the great food, Tucker's offers a well-curated selection of local craft beers and a sommelier-inspired wine list. And let's not forget their fantastic happy hour deals. Since 1982, Tucker's has been a St. Louis favorite. Shhhh. The Soulard location is my favorite.
My love and I have dined here, twice. Each time was a good time. It puts me in the mind of "Cheers," (where everybody knows your name). We sat at the bar each time and met really nice ppl who were also sitting at the bar. This last time, we ordered steakd and mine was the best ever! I had the NY Strip that literally melted in my mouth and was seasoned to perfection! I highly recommend it.
As for dining in the dining area, we were going to on our first time there, but no wine or alcohol was served upstairs, so that is why we sat at the bar. Overall, our experience was a nice experience and we've added Tucker's Place to our list. 🙂
The staff was friendly, the service was fast. The food was delicious and looked to die for I forgot to take any food pictures. Plenty of options at the bar
We came in on a Saturday night it was very busy but the host got us seated immediately. Lissa was our server and she gave us the best experience we have had in a while. It was our first time in and she went over all the cocktails and specials and made the experience great. The food was cooked perfectly. We were very satisfied with this experience and will definitely be back again
Tucker's has a great burger that they cook to your preference, you can't go wrong with it. The salads, pizza are tasty and the steaks have a nice charbroiled taste. Pictured is the cowboy cut steak, it was a little fatty for us. But it did not lack good flavor.
Fantastic! We stopped here on Sunday after a day at the Fox theater. Steaks were cooked to perfection and priced appropriately. Portions were great and service was phenomenal! This restaurant isn't built for big groups, but they worked it out and provided excellent service every step of the way! Will definitely return!
