Charlie Gitto's On The Hill

My boyfriend and I have been to this restaurant five times so far. Every visit has been an amazing experience. It's intimate, romantic, and family-oriented, with tasteful decor. We love every aspect of it. From the manager, who has a personal love for Cadillac cars, to our waiter Steve, who is knowledgeable and cheerful (I believe he's served us twice so far), everyone has done a wonderful job! Even the other waiter, whose name I can't quite recall - I think it starts with an E - engaged us in a small conversation about life and the true meaning of enjoying life every day, not just for Christmas. Every day is a blessing. I could never say or believe any negative feedback with this restaurant based off my own experiences as a returned customer. Unfortunately I had to cut our visit, due to an emergency and take food to go. But, the food was phenomenal even at home. Thank you all for making all my experiences there a night to remember. After living in STL for 35 years we returned to visit our son. Only one day for my wife and I to have dinner out by ourselves. Charlie Gitto was our choice with Ted Drew's for dessert. You just can't get fresh pasta and a cozy setting like we experienced here. The lobster pasta special was delicious. Angela took great care of us. We arrived early without a reservation and we were lucky to get a table.

We had an amazing dinner here! We had a reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was a little loud, but it fit the overall vibe. The food was amazing. It turned us into terrible conversationalists because we just kept saying the same thing: "This is so good!" The calamari was incredible. Our sever was so kind and helpful. I had even been experiencing some annoying family drama a few hours before, and this meal was so good that I literally forgot all about it until I looked at my phone after our meal was done. Totally recommend! (As a mother, I would not bring my small kids here - it wasn't a bad place for kids, but a little crowded and tight).

I just love small intimate restaurants like Charlie G’s. What a treasure in St. Louis. Located in The Hill neighborhood this place has some great history to go along with the excellent food. Try the fried ravioli as it’s a St. Louis favorite. I had the lobster spaghetti and it was delicious. I definitely could have split the plate with someone too. Unfortunately I was flying home early the next day so I didn’t get to enjoy my leftovers. It’s pretty expensive but definitely worth the food and experience. Plan ahead and get a reservation as it can fill up days ahead of time.

we had a fantastic dinner here! The bread was perfect, the toasted ravioli are the BEST ever. Homemade for sure. Along with the many other wonderful entrees we had here with our friends. The best part is that , we were treated well even if we're not dressed for the occasion. Everything about this place is Top notch. The cocktails, apps and entrees to the server Erica. She was pleasant , delightful and on point. We had the best experience.

I had always heard of this place back when I lived around St Louis over ten years ago, but never got to go until now. I was missing out!! We got the calamari, which was excellent, as an appetizer. They had a special dish, the lobster spaghetti, that sounded so good my husband and I both got it. Wow, it was delicious!! Nice atmosphere too but I would have rather sat in the front room rather than the back one. Overall I 100 percent recommend this place and I will be back next time I’m in town. Best meal I’ve had in a while!

EAT HERE! This is the place to go if you are going to visit The Hill. Everything I tasted blew me away. Incredible service, excellent atmosphere, show stopping food. You will not be able to even consider going to an “Italian” restaurant like Olive Garden after experiencing an authentic, incredible, delicious at CG’s. 10 stars.
