I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. Per the menu, the Royal Grille has been "
Named Best Grilled Cheese in Missouri" and a member of my party reported that it was the best grilled cheese sandwich that she has had in her entire life! Desserts were delicious. I would happily return whenever I find myself in the area.
Great local establishment. Wide selection of ice cream and shakes. Yes boozy shakes too. Had the old time diner feel. A few shareable to choose from. The cheese bread was very good.
I was disappointed to see they charged me $1 more for no whipped cream on my sundae.
I've been to this place before and what reminded me of it again now, is that I was assigned to do their DoorDash menu. so I wanted to see what I wrote in my review but I was surprised that I did not review them yet...so my first time there and what made me noticed that it existed was my UberEats/GrubHub menu photoshoot.(Which I just realized that not all photos were there)
Everyone there was nice even though I was not a customer. The manager provided everything he could to make the shoot smooth. By the time I have done with my setup, the plates started coming my way. Each and ever single plate looked great, the presentation was really appealing.
I cannot remember which one I tried but food tasted better than it looked. I shall update this review soon when I take care of their DoorDash Menu Photoshoot.
The Fountain was a great experience!!! I’m actually made at myself for not trying it sooner. Our server Abigail was the best. She walked us through the specials, kept our glasses full and introduced us to STL’s best kept secret, dill pickle soup.
We had the flaming tomato tango as a starter, the prosperity panini and the dill pickle soup as a pick two, and then we capped things off with “The Gambler Sundae”. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a sundae, milkshake or cream martini randomly created by the team behind the bar, and it was well worth the gamble.
I highly recommend stopping by for a date night or for a place to take out of town guests. Definitely one of Locust Street’s gems!
Stopped in to try the amazing sundeas we saw online, it lives up to all the reviews, beautiful atmosphere, creamiest ice cream, homemade toppings, creative options. We will be back!
The few times I've picked up orders from here, I knew I wanted to come back and try it out-guess the hubby been catchin' on and surprised me! Not sure what the hostess' name is but she was nice and sat us in less than 3mins of arrival. I believe Abigail was our server and what a delight she was, especially bc of her attentiveness and the way she described the OFF MENU items as if she hand crafted them herself! We looked so confused at the menu bc the food options were slim, but I ordered the Dark&Stormy with the French Onion Roast Beef n't Mac and cheese while hubby had the Pomegranate Punch (which he has deemed the BEST martini he's EVER had in his life)paired with The Champion and soup...look, the only disappointment we had was the portion size cuz we wanted more smh😂! We'll definitely be back cuz I need to try a few of those martinis myself
This is my new favorite place in St Louis! Alex is an excellent server and everything we tried on the menu was fantastic. The dill pickle soup was surprisingly delicious and really did pair well with the Cuban sandwich. For drinks I had the bees knees, love potion No. 9 and the espresso martini. Everything exceeded expectations and I very much look forward to going back
I went back and it was just as amazing as the first time. This time Andrew was taking care of us and was so friendly and energetic. We started with a piping hot spinach and artichoke dip that was super creamy and cheesey. I had the birdseed salad with chicken and was pecking on that while I enjoyed four fabulous drinks. Still my favorite place in St Louis and I loved the Soap Hospital in the booth.
We got dessert here and it was so fun! Their ice cream flavors and options were SO good! Also the restaurant itself was such a fun atmosphere. I got a brownie Sunday and it was fantastic.
This is a great, cozy place to dine in St. Louis. The service is great and so is the food. I had the Pesto Chicken with a side St. Louis salad. The Pesto Chicken included two orange slices, which added a brightness that differed from the common lemon wedges. I also had a Stutz make your own sundae. The espresso bean ice cream was especially delicious and included little espresso beans. All was excellent!
Nice atmosphere but we had to eat at the bar. We were told it was a 30 min weight for a table but multiple tables and booths were open. Food was good. My bread to meat ratio was WAY off. Horseradish tasted like mayo. No kick no bite! Waitress was great!
