I would like to retract a review I gave a year or so ago. Took friends out for dinner first time there. Food was great and they were slammed. I made a comment about the liver and onions that onions were not sauteed. That's just my personal preference but will make a request next time there. Been there many times and always good. Food prices have gotten out of site but restaurants have to make a profit & certainly understand. Would prefer to pay a little more for larger servings. Just constructive criticism for owner. Great place!

Food was great. Our server was fantastic! She was bringing new drinks without us even having to ask. Prices are fair. Can't wait to go back and try some other meal and some homemade pie. Be aware though, it is cash only. While this is ok, I much prefer to use my debit card. I guess this saves them monies by not having to pay the CC fees.

This joint is hyper-local, located in an otherwise residential neighborhood. They must do something right because they've been in business since 1947. Admittedly I probably made the worst menu choice by selecting "butterfly shrimp". The shrimp is no different than what you would find in the freezer section of a grocery store. On the other hand.. The steak was fantastic! Worth the trip if u are in the mood for beef. They also have two items rarely seen in most restaurants: beets (side), and liver & onions (entrée). Two important things to note. 1) Cash only. Seriously. Don't bother asking for an exception. There is an ATM on the premises if you need one. 2) not fancy. Not in the least. It is loud with even just a few people in the place. Can feel a bit tight and only one way in/out. Would I go again? Maybe. At least I know what to order. The waiter did a great job.
