So happy to find an H SALT place bc I grew up eating them since I was a kid.
-excellent and fast service
-fresh tasting fish, patters and onion rings
-good portion
-huge fresh piece of fish
-clean restaurant
-plenty of parking
H. Salt Esq is one of those last remaining remnants of my childhood that could very well be here today and gone tomorrow. This is a blast from the past. I haven't been to an H. Salt in decades! Like most of Sacramento, this building is historic and preserved in its authentic original state. The whole experience was retro and brought back many memories of days long past. The food was excellent and the prices were GREAT
Food was pretty good. Not crowded. Two people diner w/ sides under $45. Clean & quite + well lite.
I'd like my fish fried alil bit harder🤏🏾, but all in all, it was quite decent.

Given where this place it's located, one would never guess their fish and chips are some of the best and tastiest to eat. The service was good, the portion size, just right and the taste...very delicious. Would definitely recommend finding this hidden gem in downtown Sacramento
Fish and chips was hot and tasted great. Onion rings have a tempura batter which makes them crisp and light. Very tasty. Prices were very reasonable for portions and quality. The dine in space is small but clean. Service was precise and the couple that work there were very friendly and kind. It's
Kinda slow on service and atmosphere but the fish and chips make up for it. Only thing missing is the newspaper wrapping it. Oldies will understand that reference
Love this place! Fish & Chips are the best, Especially with the malt vinegar. Its clean, but parking can be challenging.

I have ate here for the past few days. I would really like to comment on the cleanliness and professionalism of the owner. The food is outstanding having ate at many fish and chips. The food was tasty! Nice and crispy, really enjoyed the mushrooms. Food was good and exceeded expectations. 3 huge pieces of fish for 9.19 is a bargain. Walked up, so lack of parking wasn’t a huge issue. Will def return for more, good fish spot

This is usually great food and I love the staff/owner so attentive to the customer. Fish was extra crispy and extra greasy. Fries greasy. I haven't ate here in 2 yrs and I remember the food being Bomb. Maybe a bad day but Hold The Grease Please.
