Review Momo's Meat Market - Sacramento

My friend who’s been going here for a long time brought me to Momos yesterday and I was not disappointed. The ribs were 🔥, chicken smokey and perfectly seasoned, and the sides excellent. I foresee random out stops for mac & cheese and greens in my future.

Best Q in Sacramento. Owners are always so welcoming and friendly to all.

Updated review as of May 2022. The prices have changed and so have the portion.(smaller) This is great bbq place I've been. I ran into it on accident while going to the DMV and getting my live scans. The bbq is amazing, it's better than some of the places I've experiences in Sacramento. Today I have officially tried everything on the menu and the tri tip is my favorite. I love the sides like the greens or pepper jack Mac.

By far some of the best bbq I've had in California so far. The staff here is top notch and are nothing but kind and sweet. The food is soooo delicious, I can't recommend it enough!! Also Glen is such a fun guy to talk too!

Great food, well seasoned AWESOME customer service which made the food that much better, although the hot links had a lil kick. Waiting to try the infamous Mac n cheese.....my Mom enjoyed it as well....we will be back.

A friend from work recommended Momo's to me. This is the best bbq I've had in Sacramento. I got a full slab of ribs, baked beans, and pepper mac, along with both the hot and mild sauce...everything was delicious, the portions were huge. I'm stuffed and I've got a little more for seconds and even more for the omelet pan tomorrow morning. Can't wait to get back and try more. Oh yeah, they're hella friendly and outgoing...support your local business and visit momos.

Delicious food with friendly owners. The BBQ is cooking right in the parking lot and grilling up amazing ribs and tri-tip. The beans were unbelievable. yes it opens at 11 and there is a line but the food isn't ready until closer to 12. Just to know.

Saw smoke and stopped to say hello to Glenn. So glad I did. Fantastic bbq and super friendly service. Huge servings, too. I’ll be back!

Good things come to those who wait! Driving up you can see the billowing smoke from the grills in the parking lot and it smells delicious. I had to wait a little to get my food, but it was worth it when I did. I had the tri-tip plate with greens. The meat was very flavorful, sliced thin and tender. The greens were really good with some sausage slices that were a nice surprise. The chef and the ladie taking my order were super nice.

I highly recommend MoMo's Meat Market on Broadway in Sacramento. From pulling into the parking lot with the meat smokers filling up the air with delectable flavors to Glen greeting you with "first time here? Be sure to tell them that inside" to the gal at the counter who immediately gives you a meat sample when you say this is 'my first time' to the servers making sure you knew that the H on the sauce lid meant HOT. It was a wonderful experience and the food was tender, flavorful and of course, delicious!

Very cute shop! It's tiny but very cozy inside. It's got a comfortable, laid back, Jamaican/African vibe inside (Black owned business, which is awesome!). And they Q their meat on grills right out in the front parking lot next to the street! So cool! The hostess runs the till (totally nice lady), her husband mans the Q, and I think a cousin helps assemble the orders. They were all very friendly and down to earth. I ordered tri-tip with side of greens and side of mac/cheese. Just $12.99. Good sized portions for the $. I was totally full after I finished my food. The mac/cheese was delicious! They used penne for the pasta. The cheese sauce was amazing. Home made with sharp cheddar and some mild jalapeno slices for extra flavor. And the sauce wasn't a thin sauce. It was more dense and sticky/clumpy. The greens were mouth watering, too. Tender and succulent and perfectly salted. However, I did find two twigs in the greens. They might have been from the plant that the greens came from. Not sure. But it was unpleasant to unwittingly put a forkful of greens in your mouth and bite down on a stiff piece of plant twig. And lastly, the tri-tip. It looked delicious, smelled delicious, and had that yummy BBQ smoked flavor. But I was unhappy with the chewy factor. The tri-tip was juicy, to be sure, but was a bit tough to chew. By the time I had finished the meat, my jaw muscles were fatigued. All-in-all though, I would absolutely buy from Momo's again.

We had breakfast at a spot near by and the smell from Momo's got me curious. I finally had the chance to try this place and let me tell you this. The customer service here is amazing. Me and my brother walked in and asked for suggestions, since it was our first time here, and without question the lady gave us samples of the ribs and chicken. Both tasted great. I ended up getting a tritip sandwich with a side. The sandwich was good and absolutely loved the spicy BBQ sauce on the sandwich. Absolutely urge everyone in the area to give this place a shot.

It was a pleasure meeting you both today, and thank you for the wonderful meal and conversation! This was quite possibly the best BBQ I have had in my 22 years of traveling for work. My daughter is an especially picky eater, and she loved the BBQ chicken and mac & cheese! Will definitely stop by again the next time we're in town. Protip for anyone reading: get a 4-way and try it all, you won't be disappointed.

Of course during CoVid,no dining inside or outside. Excellent service Excellent tasty food. Mild or hit sauces for the barbecues meats. Sides are very much full of flavor.

Wonderful vibes, these people are good christian folk who make some absolutely lovely food. I hope they continue to do well.

I've been to Mo Mo's 4-5 times.<br/><br/>Between my dining partners and me, we've had a 4-way plate (bbq'd tri tip, hot link, ribs, and chicken), two bbq sandwiches (chicken and hot link), gumbo, fried cabbage, peach cobbler, baked beans, cole slaw, fried cabbage, and corn bread.<br/><br/>The baked beans, cole slaw were good.<br/><br/>The ribs and tri tip were very good, moist and flavorful.<br/><br/>The gumbo, barbecued chicken and hot links were outstanding, the best bbq we've had in the Sac area.  <br/><br/>The fried cabbage and peach cobbler were also outstanding.<br/><br/>Portions were generous, including the free meat sampler.<br/><br/>Sharon and Glenn served us.   They were knowledgeable (after all, they do the cooking!), personable, and professional.<br/><br/>We'll definitely return!

The spicy sauce is one of the better sauces I have had. As a former resident of Kansas City and North Carolina the barbecue here is pretty legit. Get the ribs!

I was looking thru the yellow pages for meat market stumbled up on Momo's....I was very pleased! Been telling all my friends and family, go to Momo's!

Good BBQ. Went here based on the fact it has 100% Like on Urbanspoon and was very pleased. Get there early bacause they can run out of some items. Get the BBQ Sauce on the side. The B Back ribs and Tri tip were awsome. Their Greens were quite flavorful also. Will make this a regular stop when traveling to Sacramento.

This BBQ was the best I have ever had!! The owners were really nice people that make you feel at home. I'm looking forward to going back for more. I wish so much that I knew how the made the chicken. So good it makes me want to cuss.
