During our walk through Midtown we decided to have coffee here because we were tired and thirsty from the heat. Coming from Europe, we expected another pseudo-European place with mediocre baked goods. But boy, did these guys prove us wrong! I had the best banana bread ever, and my husband ordered a ham-and-gruyere croissant that was really awesome. The place is very nicely decorated and a great spot for people watching as well.
Five very yummy stars, and we will always come back when we're in town.
The multi berry muffin was awesome. I've tried a different coffee every time and have never been disappointed. I love this place.
I’ve gone to Ambrosia a few times, and always had good food and good service. But tonight, I was downtown with my daughter for unrelated reasons, and she needed a restroom. We were turned away from several other places with “customers only” policies. While I understand those in the abstract, I don’t understand not making an exception for a six-year-old in obvious distress. Ambrosia cemented their place in my heart by not only allowing her to use their facilities, but giving her a free cookie as well.
Without question, Ambrosia is the best cafe in downtown Sacramento.

Nice understated place for an early morning stop-in. Baked goods fresh and delicious. I had the breakfast ciabatta and my wife the chocolate croissant. Great views of the old cathedral across the street. Coffee very good.
Had breakfast at Ambrosia this morning. I chose the breakfast burrito and a chocolate croissant. Both were very good. The atmosphere was like a nice, comfortable neighborhood bakery/deli. Good place for people watching too . . . with all of the walk by traffic.
The atmosphere was nice, I liked the outdoor area. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was a good quality although the quantity left me wanting a little more. I had the tuna melt and a Chai tea.
I have been a regular customer for both breakfast as well as lunch for over three years. Consistently reliable, great food and beverage selection, and super great people. Love the outdoor seating for fresh air and vibrant K Street people watching.

Haven't been here in a while since i usually come here in the morning before the Convention would start but this place is great! Friendly staf and if you can Try the Chocolate Croissant! Best I've ever had, way better than the dinky little ones at the main stream coffee place that has a green siren for its logo. And the coffee is divine. Go here!
Very busy during the weekday lunch hour. Staff are pleasant and adept. Atmosphere is nice. My coworker enjoyed her salad and her blueberry cheesecake thing. There are many choices here, and I just happened to make the wrong one... My $4 lemon lavender cupcake tasted only of butter (Why was it called lemon lavender?). Although I was disappointed, I will come back to try something else, because everyone else is over the moon about this place.
Beautiful little cafe on k Street right across from the Cathedral. Relaxing atmosphere and excellent breakfast burrito. Coffee was great, served in a nice big saucer cup. Staff was friendly and I even enjoyed the maze I traversed to get to the fancy restrooms!
Cute vibe. Nice outdoor seating. Close proximity to the capitol and K St. Got the chicken pesto sandwich. Tasty but a little dry. My coworker got the quiche and loved it. Another got the salad trio and found the taragon salad to have a bit too much mayo. Fast service.
I usually hesitate when I order any drink with peppermint in it since in some places the flavor is too strong. But here it was perfect! They ask you how many shots you'd like which means that you can determine the bitterness of your drink. The service overall was also superb. It is definitely a great place to eat and by coffee.
In town for a conference at this cafe was near the venue. All around a good experience! I had the homemade granola with yogurt and an organic green iced tea. All very tasty. The patio is super cute and faces a pedestrian walkway. I'd come back!

I was hungry after my train from Seattle and this place was perfect. I had an egg and bacon wrap and it was delicious. The staff are really nice and let me sit near counter to get power for my phone. They also make their own bread.
The quality of the food is amazing. The soups are different each day, and there are wonderful pasta salads. My favorite is pasta with blue cheese, peaches and pecans. The specials change with the season, so everything is fresh and they have a great beer and wine selection. They also do half sandwiches. The staff is friendly and professional. They make you feel very welcome. The windows and outdoor courtyard look out onto the beautiful 1880's era Catherdral of the Blessed Sacrament. Just a wonderful place to eat.
Nice little restaurant that looks more expensive than it is. Awesome for brunch or lunch. Wide array of dishes that veer towards the lighter side. Prices are fair. They do have wine. Sitting outside in the patio is glorious especially on a beautiful spring day. often music buskers in area playing for money, so it makes a nice background.
I got chocolate banana bread 2 weeks back, they served me prepacked one and it was not fresh. When I asked they mentioned it was just packed. But I like their coffee. I recommend coffee. Their customer service is nice.
