This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was original and delicious and the kind of meal that makes you want to savor every bite. The owner Adam is a true artist and so charming. He makes you feel like family. I will definitely be making this my go to place for dining out and be recommending it to all my family and friends. One of a kind experience!

I went with my partner for our anniversary. The service was kind and prompt. Our server, who I presume is the owner, came and took our order while offering jokes and positive vibes help making it feel intimate and homey. The physical menu is small, but there is a large specials menu that is verbally spoken. Additionally, they offer "anything you can find nearby we'll get it". We got a mushroom appetizer off the menu, a pasta special, a salmon special, a bottle of red wine and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Every meal was scrumptious and had us wanting more. This restaurant feels like a hole in the wall, but don't be fooled as it's marvelous!

Excellent, excellent, excellent service, food, and ambiance. It is patently clear from the conversations throughout the restaurant and kitchen that the attentive owner and staff care deeply about the dining experience of all their guests. The experience is worth the high price point. I will certainly return if I am ever back in Sacramento on a weekend. My order ($85+tip): - No drinks - Grilled Eggplant Appetizer - Ribeye Steak in a Blue Cheese Reduction Entrée - Mango Sorbet Dessert

A moment of opportunity. Don't let it pass you by. One of Sacramento's genuine Gem's. Over 35 year's Adam has given all the best a person can expect in a dining experience as an owner operater. One of the few places left here, where you feel a sense of pride, dedication, and true comfort in the local neighborhood. Nothing last forever. P.S. Love the hand written receipts. How cool is that!

A little on the pricey side, but it's hard to complain about this place. The head waiter is very entertaining, his assistant is very attentive. It's a romantic atmosphere, also good for birthdays and other celebrations. Most of the parties that were there on the same night with us were also celebrating.

Food was fantastic. This place literally blew my mind. The owner is the person giving you the menu and the paper is just something you could look over before he shows up. His specials are what he gets everyday when he goes to the market picks things up and brings it back and if you have a craving that's not on the menu or his specials he'll figure out a way to get it for you. This is a place you would love to go to. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but the food is wonderful. Yes it's a little dark inside, but I honestly feel that it contributes to the atmosphere of the place. It's not a place that will have a DJ playing music, live band on stage or having music drowning out the loud noise. It's a place that is cozy and give you a nostalgia feel while serving you some of the best food. Don't trust a review and just judge it for yourself. Go in there and experience it first hand.

Amazing like always! We have been coming here for a few years now and it never disappoints! Food is delicious and full of flavor! Service is amazing and super attentive! The atmosphere unique in every way! Great place to have a romantic dinner! Definitely recommend it to anyone! You won't be disappointed!!!

First time visitor. I immediately loved the atmosphere and the handsome manager/ waiter the was funny, professional and had an excellent knowledge of food preparation. We enjoyed crab cakes and another appetizer. According to my son, his ribeye was cooked to perfection and he rated it better than Morton’s which is his go to steak house. We had deseet, fabulous and small little glasses of hot melted chocolate which was a pleaser all around. We will definitely be back. One of the most relaxing evenings in a long time, i highly recommend. Cindy

My husband and I dined there last night; everything was quite good. They are very flexible about the menu - when I asked about one of the fish specials, the owner suggested that if I didn't want the lobster sauce, they'd be happy to just saute a fillet with butter, lemon and capers and that turned out to be excellent. The fish was very fresh and it came with mashed potatoes, cabbage, pea pods, and baby carrots. The cheesecake dessert was also better than the average restaurant cheesecake. Do call for reservations cuz it's not that big of a place, but it's worth checking out for sure.

We've been Moxie fans since the 90s. Food is consistently delicious... many options available off the menu; servers are professional, attentive to your needs; Adam is charming and has a good sense of humor. Atmosphere is cozy. ALWAYS enjoy our dining experiences .

My first time here and I love it!! Some of the appetizers were not the best of the best but the atmosphere was excellent, and Adam(waiter) was alway on top of Everything and even joking with us. The main entree was excellent!.

4.361321 Timeless food delivered with absolute class! Are you looking for something a little more sophisticated, classy, quiet and delightful? This is the place for you! Two visits in, I can say that I will likely be back again. Make sure to listen to the specials because there are a lot! First visit I went with the chicken parmesan, which is some of the best I've been had. Second time I went with the petite filet with prawns special, and while it was good, I think I prefer the chicken parm. Finishing up with the cheesecake is an exquisite choice if you have room for desert. The ambience is very nice and makes for a delightful evening in Sacramento!

Don’t let the unassuming entrance fool you. Moxie definitely lived up to the hyped reviews. Service was fenomenal and the food was amazing. The variety of plates was almost overwhelming but no matter what you choose, you will not be disappointed. Servers were very friendly and the speed was outstanding. Highly recommend for a nice dinner.

My husband and I went here for a date night. We didn't realize that reservations were required, but they were so kind and sat us anyways. The ambiance is so pleasant, dim, and warm. We were greeted right away by the owner, who pulled my chair out for me, and placed our napkins in our laps. He made us feel welcome from the get go, and told us about items for dinner that weren't on the menu. The food was some of the best I've ever had. The crab cakes were superb! Wow, they were unbelievable. They were served with different sauces and mixed together it's magical. The steak was top notch. The most tender steak I've ever had. We were so pleased with our experience from start to finish.
