One of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento. Biba does an exceptional job of providing an amazing dining experience. The quality of the food is fabulous and the service is thoughtful and attentive. Exactly what you would expect from a Five Star restaurant.
Salads, pasta, appetizers, entrees, desserts... you will love it all and will be planning your next visit before you leave. Reservations are highly recommended.

We are always on the lookout for authentic and delicious Italian food, so we decided to give Biba a try for our 12th anniversary dinner. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The hostesses and servers are amicable and help create an enjoyable atmosphere. The menu isn’t large but there is a decent variety of dishes to choose from. We ended up getting three different pasta dishes—the stuffed pasta of the day was glorious! The carbonara was decent, rich but a little runny. Unfortunately, the famed lasagna was a disspointment. The bolognese was not reduced enough and lacked depth of flavor. There was supposedly bechamel within the layers, but it was so sparse as to be almost absent. The pasta itself though was perfect. Overall, I’m surprised that this lasagna is listed as one of the must-try dishes in the Sacramento area. We would return for the stuffed pasta of the day and to try the daily gnocchi dish but definitely won’t be raving to our friends about the “renowned” lasagna.

The service was excellent. Clean friendly and quick to be seated. The foods taste was awesome. The plating and decor could use some updating but overall was a great experience. If you get a chance stop at the bar first and chat with June. For an appetizer drinks and two entrees it was only about $150!

Biba's is where I go when I want to treat family and friends to a wonderful meal. I've never been disappointed.
Went again with friends and had wonderful gnocchi with Asiago, beet soup, and a perfectly prepared salmon with Brussel sprouts. Yummy!

If you are looking for a romantic dinner in the capital of state California, BiBa is where you should be.
My fiancé and I visited BiBa last night. The restaurant was well-decorated, clean and elegant, with a real Italian server.
We started our evening with carpaccio. If you take a look at the picture I took, you will know the beef was super juicy and tender. I have to say it's one of the best carpaccio we have tried. The mixing of flavours was just perfect!
We had linguini di mare and shrimp ravioli as our main. They were both exquisite!!! I particularly liked the linguini di mare. What got our attention was not only the shell-less shell food but the unforgettable after taste. Beyond words. You have to try it and let me know.
Together with the Pinot noir, Russian river valley, the whole meal was just made to another level.
It's ranked as the best restaurant in town on tripadvisor! Well, it deserves the reputation! Bravo Chef BiBa! But don't be surprised, it's actually located right next to a hospital! And from the exterior, it doesn't look like a restaurant. You may want to make a reservation before you go. Could be quite full :)

Overall, absolutely incredible. The food is authentically Italian and homemade. The food is flavorful and beautifully presented. The service is incredible and Biba and her husband walk around to say hello to the guests. It's a very nice experience. The desserts were exquisite!

The food was terrific. The menu is different from the vast majority of Italian restaurants in the area.

We had reservations and were seated immediately upon our arrival. Once seated my husband wanted to move to another table; they consulted with their management, and we were moved. Later I noticed, for a Thursday evening, tables were packed in the main dining room. For those who enjoy live soft piano music, patrons may sit in the bar-dining room.
My favorite dish is the ten layer lasagne, "Lasagne Verdi alla Bolognese". Love it! Order it at each visit. (Available only Thursdays and Fridays. Found out once 😐 and never forgot!) Perfect in every detail: Incredibly tender and silky smooth. Nearly melts in your mouth, even the leftovers!
My husband's generally likes to order salmon. He was pleased with the chef's cooking; moist as most fish should be prepared. The Oregon salmon was pleasantly sweet.
We selected my best loved appetizer, a plate of Monterey calamari. Since l was not satisfied with the saltiness of the tomato sauce at our last visit, my hesitation to order it was revealed to the waiter. He willingly offered us an alternative, a creamy white sauce, as well as the original tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was much better this time. Although my preference is just slices of fresh lemon. The waiter generously treated me to several more slices than the original one slice delivered on the plate of calamari.
Personally I do not enjoy salty food at restaurants, particularly at fine dining restaurants. Quality is expected. I cook and know the differences in what constitutes excellent food.
We delighted ourselves to a huge slice of hazel nut cream, with a thin layer of soft cake, and covered with a wonderful dark layer of chocolate. We were in heaven! If I could, I would lick the plate! 😋
Lastly the service was outstanding! It appeared the policy changed...to be warm and friendly. Typically in the past, we eat at Biba's for special occasions and I feel the people are trained to be stiffly polite until later after the start of the meal, they relax. Yet this time, both my husband and I found the waiter welcoming with smiles, listening to my concern of salty foods, accomodating and being sociable.
My birthday dinner was a delightfully memorable evening at Biba's restaurant.
