Barnacle Bills

First time here and been wanting to come here after a few friends recommended this place. It's really nice and very popular as you can see. I ended up sitting at the bar after about 45 minutes hanging out back with a beer. It was crowded but the three bartenders did an amazing job, they never stopped and never kept anyone waiting long for service. I wish other bars had this kind of quality service... I had a burger and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Both were really good. I'm looking forward to coming back soon. All the staff I encountered were really friendly and polite. Also there was many friendly people at the bar to talk to. :)

Bustling dinner spot with waterfront view. Lots of diners around us ordered burgers, so maybe we missed out but we enjoyed the shrimp cocktail appetizer, stuffed lobster, and blackened mahi mahi. Portion sizes were reasonable and the service was impeccable (our waitress provided helpful suggestions and followed up throughout our meal). Parking was a bit tight.

Beyond disappointed. Barnacle Bill's once was known for its amazing burgers, absolutely positively delicious at one time, until now. We placed our order, burger for my husband and stuff flounder for myself. After waiting a longer then understanding period of time my husband's medium rare burger arrived well done and extremely over cooked. No flavor and dry. My stuffed flounder for $30 were small pieces and dry...almost like it was frozen originally. Their sides consist of broccoli, fries, brown rice and rice pilaf. The rice pilaf was dry..no seasoning and for the lack of a better comparison..like minute rice that sat in the pot for two hours and was zapped in the microwave. We were in complete shock...I could see if one meal was bad but both? They took the burger off the bill and even with that for the fish, one seltzer, one beer and one appetizer (fried oysters they were decent) we still walked out paying $100...and my husband was still hungry because he couldnt eat the food. Understand the prices in this economy but you have to give some quality and definitely there was none. We will not be back, sad was there previously at least a dozen times. Sad.
