Garden Valley Grill

Tried this restaurant with my family a few weeks ago and left this same review on the restaurant’s Facebook messenger. I know they saw the message because the “reacted” to it in messenger with the “wow” reaction. They never did respond to my message though, so that is another reason I would have to give such a low rating. I was very disappointed with my experience here, I had the prime rib and added the salad and bread. The salad came, it was a decent dinner salad but nothing to write home about. The bread never showed up, and we had to remind the waiter about the soup my husband ordered not a huge deal but not the best start. Our dinner arrived, and I had ordered the mashed potatoes with the prime rib, and at the first bite I was disappointed to find that the potatoes were instant. That was a real bummer for me, I waited a while and when the waiter came back I asked for a baked potato instead. He brought it out quickly and that was nice. However it looked like it had been baking since early this morning, but I tried to stay positive and smothered it in butter and put the sour cream on it. It was then that I got to experience the “cheesy” sour cream I’d have to say that I am definitely not a fan of the “cheesy” sour cream. The prime rib itself was ok, it was definitely under seasoned and a little over done since we ordered rare but at least I had something on my plate that I could eat before I left so I didn’t have to leave hungry. Anyway, I would just hope that maybe you could pass on to the chef to not the corners, the corners matter. Like real potatoes for mashed potatoes. And don’t serve yesterday’s baked potatoes that stay in the oven overnight. And cheddar cheese is great melted on a baked potato but maybe not the best idea to throw in the sour cream. I was hoping to find a great new place in town that was great for a family meal or even date night I can’t say that’s what we found. With other places in town that serve real food and even locally grown food at comparable prices I’d have to say a little effort goes a long way. Hoping this review will be helpful to make some changes after you get past the unsatisfied customer rant and see that some of the suggestions might make sense. Best of luck!
