Great service, truly amazing food, and good atmosphere. Music was a little loud, but that just means I'm old now. Definitely the place to go if you want a really good 'Bar Burger'.

We went up there on Thursday for Polish food,and it was like a home cooked meal. It was good. Didn't even know they cook this good. I only had drinks in the passed. I love there food.

Pathetic. Poor service. Not the Wheat & Rye I remember fondly from some years back and beyond. Sat for 15 minutes to watch other's get service and the waitress fill cups of white glob. Maybe I wasn't the right type if you know what I mean being close to certain neighborhoods. I guess things change, but I felt so out of place coming here and I certainly wouldn't bring my family. Food was not like before, bland, uneventful. Waitress took her time with other "local" customers, other male more into smoking on the patio than anything else. Photos do not represent this place, say they are recent, but no way. You used stop when traveling on business, had to check in and so sorry I did.

Big portion size so bring your appetite thats forsure. Fast dining with good service. Love the fact they give you a roll of paper towel. don't skimp on the napkins! Been going here for a while, wish they still had the pool table which brought back good memories and was something to do at the bar.

Was referred to this place by a budtender at Vibe, because I was in from out of state. We looked up the menu on the website before going.
When we walked in we weren't sure if we should seat ourselves or what. So we took a seat. Took about 15 minutes to be acknowledged but they were slightly busy.
The place is very dim inside, there was a bucket near our table, near the kitchen as the ceiling is leaking. We were looking forward to ordering the Turkey Pesto and we saw on the online menu but it was not available on the in house menu. We ordered the pulled pork and the philly steak and cheese with Cajun fries. The food was absolutely amazing. Huge portions and delicious! The inside of the establishment could use a makeover but you should go for the food!!

Great local place to catch up with friends, get a drink or a bite to eat. Their sandwiches are MASSIVE and will definitely fill you up! If you have not been I would suggest at minimum order carry out and try one of these Signature sandwiches!

I'm actually glad my flight was canceled because I found this place. Soul Food Sundays???!!! The smothered pork chops are the best I've ever had and I've been to some amazing places in the south. Absolutely delicious food and really nice staff.

Good food horrible service. The waitress was drunk before we ordered. We all have bad days but she was so drunk she didn't realize we left her a $20 dollar tip, the bill wad $59.12. She was so drunk she didn't realize we left her a $20 tip she told us we were rude for wanting change, but that was the tip she threatened to call the police on us for leaving the tip so we took our tip back and left.

Huge sandwiches. Nice local beer selection. And despite previous reviews to the contrary, we had no problems getting good service. The music is loud, so come prepared to rock, or at least talk REALLY LOUDLY to your dinner partners. :-) Otherwise, it's a good stop. Add it to your list!

This place is terrible.. Anyone who has never been I suggest keeping it that way. The service is poor and the workers are very rude. The waitress Jenny is very rude. And on top of that the food is worst thing u can taste. The fries might be the only thing that's good in that place. U can try it but I'm telling u your better off going elsewhere.

I tried so hard to challenge the very poor reviews but after an hour in the place, I am compelled to agree with most reviews. This dump should be either totally cleaned up, including management and employees, or shut down. <br/><br/>The service is horrible. Servers wear "homeless" attire at best. Bar gal prepares your drink order as her time permits, meaning after visits with her favorite bar customers. <br/><br/>The place is "dark" by design and this is probably by design. The men's room, also dark in color, is extremely filthy and unkept. Disgusting! A local patron said it has been this way for a long time. <br/><br/>I am traveling thru Detroit on a business trip and can assure you this is my one and only visit to this place. Beware!!!

Wally. Went in for some drinks at the bar. Sat there for 10 minutes waiting on my buddy's to come into town I couldn't get waited on because the long hair blond bartender (10:20) pm was to busy talking to her friend at the end of the bar. I leaned over the bar to get her attention but said the heck with this. Met my buddy's at the mill bar. Or something like that. I will never go back there !! Didnt get a dime from us !!! After reading the other reviews sounds like it won't be open very much longer.

Prices went WAY up. I loved this place because of the MASSIVE sandwiches for great prices. It's kind of far from us so we only go a couple times a year. Wow was I shocked a moment ago when I ordered our usual 2 Corn Beef w Swiss on Rye and the total was almost double the price it was a year ago. The menu posted on here defiantly needs to be updated. I honestly don't know if we will go back now. The huge $5 per sandwich increase has me flabbergasted! Now it just feels like an ok sandwich for an ok price. I get that prices raise but dang.... Seems a bit high. Seriously bummed....

Very bad management food amount huge but poor.. Waitress was trouble tried to charge for water. She was saying it is our policy per the owner after we had already spent $$$ on food and drinks. Then tried to double bill us just a bad place. Maybe back when the original owners ran the place they built a great name for themselves but now not so much. They treat you like you should be happy you are in there restaurant. If you do have a choice Pick the other place.

Horrible service. My husband and I figured we would give this place a shot again after a year. The waitress was ok at best. She forgot that my husband ordered fries 15 minutes after his burger was delivered. After our meal she asks if we want two boxes we said that one is fine. She comes by and tosses two boxes on the table then runs off again. Takes a 20 minutes to collect the bill and money. We run into friends and get a different waitress. I think we might of seen her 3 times? Each time it seemed like it was an inconvenience for her to come by. I had to wave her down in order to get my friends bill. Nothing has changed from a year ago. Waitresses seem to want to ignore you.

I was there last night and was a simi regular.Service is usually good at the tables not so much at the bar.Food is good for the price but I would recommend getting any hamburgers or meats cooked well done.Don't play the jukebox after 9pm.Its an internet jukebox so when I put 10 bucks in it I figured I could hear a song made in the last 20 years.This was not the case.When I asked about the selection I was told after 9 they limit they type of music that can be played.Sounds silly but on a Friday night at 9:30 I really wasn't looking to hear only def leopard and country from the 70s.When I asked for my money back I was told no that it wasn't their problem.I have never left any kind of review about any place and when I mentioned I would be telling any one that will listen to avoid their bar I was told by the bar maid"go ahead,everyone else does"<br/>Stay away from this place.

They suck. The only positive is great portions. They have terrible service, we waited fifteen minutes after we were seated for help. Then we were ignored by the poorly dressed wait staff, who were too busy texting or talking to their friends in person. They went to refill my friends drink, and walked off with the cup, never to return. I didn't even know who my waitress was as they had no name tag and the most identifying feature was their ankle tattoos. The place was a mess, and the food was just ok

Refused water as well, rude waitress. Went there with my elderly parents. Mom asked for a glass of water (rest of us ordered beers). Refused to give her a glass of water as well. How tacky is that?<br/>On top of that, the waitress had a total attitude. Love Wheat & Rye, hate this location.

They refused to give me water. They wait staff was so rude and refused to give me water and said I had to buy the bottled water. Then took 20 minutes to get the bottles of water and 15 more minutes for the waitress to take or order. The food however was amazing. Doesn't make up for the Losey waitress but next time I'll just take it home.

Good food and great beer selection. All other reviews are true, if servers spent less time worrying about themselves and serving patrons this would be a great place. Down to earth and no BS. Servers might get better tips if they gave a shight, thus better tips = better service.

Great Place. I have been there with friends and by myself for the prime rib specials. The staff was great and courteous. The food was plentiful and very good. My friends and I will keep coming back. I met the owner who was very nice .

First stop when I get off the plane there is nothing like it (10 stars). I get one on the way out back to Dallas. Next stop while home is Pizza Papalis and Lafayette Coney Island... grab some Better Maid and a Faygo Pop and I'm in heaven

Just not good. The novelty of a sandwich the size of a small watermelon wears out with bad service and not great taste. The ham isn't bad, and it will last a normal person at least a week, but the chicken salad is disgusting.
