La Madeleine

La Madeleine serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu contains gluten-free and vegetarian options. There is also a children's menu. The food is superb. We had turkey sandwiches with pesto pasta on the side. Best of all, however, are the deserts. The Lemon Madeleines, chocolate croissants, and key lime cheesecake are to die for. But really, any dessert there is a winner.

We eat at this restaurant frequently. I used to get quiche but the last number of times I got it, it wasn't any good. I switched to the salad sampler and it has been very good. I usually get chicken salad, fresh fruit (always quite good), and one of their green salads (all varieties have been good). The restaurant is always clean. The cashier is usually not very friendly. The person dishing up the food is efficient.

As a former employee it’s sad to see this place go downhill. Bakery doesn’t want to answer the phone and it’s very unprofessional when you can tell they’re having conversations about customers before you hang up the phone. Also food wise my soup was barely filled half way and the bread to my grilled cheese was hard and not made fresh at all.

My experience today was so disappointing! The placed looked dirty with multiple tables needing to be clean. Placed looked to be understaffed. Only one girl running around cleaning, taking orders and bringing the food out. While others stood around in the back part or the kitchen. The carbonation on the soda machine wasn’t working! You can see mold around the ice part. I ordered two plates of chicken pesto pasta. Only had 3 small pieces of chicken .they didn’t bring out the side bread that comes with the meal. When I asked for it took over 15min to get it. The girl running the whole placed asked a few employees to help but they would disappear to the back. I had to ask again. I asked for a side plate to share food with my toddler, that was never brought out. The only plate that came out right was a toddler cheese pizza.. This location always gets something wrong, but today was it for me. Will not return!

The atmosphere of this Cafe is warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I only had a croissant and coffee so it's tough to judge fully. However it was the best croissant I've ever had. This is saying something since I've spent years living and touring Europe and Canada. I'll update this when I go here in a few weeks. UPDATE: Came back last week and this week (twice) and selected several pastries. They're so good! The food is always excellent! I think it'll be a must-have each month when I visit the area. NOTE: I have changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars because of the consistent excellent experiences with the restaurant, its staff, and especially their food. I love coming here!! I look forward to my next visit!

This is our second time here and I will never come back. We had to wait 50 minutes just to place an order and another 20 for a simple sandwich. They consistently understaff the salad and soup bar besides the staff working at the slowest pace possible. This creates a massive backup for anyone that wants to skip the bar and just order a sandwich.
