Zest Kitchen

Not a vegan but often want it. The AVO toast is tops. Love it for breakfast. Been a lot and drive for it. You must ring the bell by register for them to come out. Food is fresh made - so allow time for it to be made. But worth the wait. Like most small mom and pop vegan joints like in Portland. As expensive AF but worth it for quality food your body is a temple.

My boyfriend and I went here to grab lunch for our anniversary, I’m vegan and he is not but we both enjoyed our meal! Lots of exciting and inclusive options for all palettes, diets, allergies, and preferences. High quality food, ingredients, and vibes. We also loved all the art, photos, and jewelry by local artists on display! 🌱

Food ordered: Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie, Coconut Chai Smoothie, Sweet Potato Taco, Grilled Herb Cashew Cheese Sandwich, Salted Caramel Brownie This place was extremely yummy and filling and almost the only place I can go to while doing a parasite cleanse. I made some exceptions with the coconut sugar and maple syrup today. I asked A LOT of questions about the ingredients, and the employees were more than happy to answer all of them. As someone who's been allergic to cane sugar for a decade...I appreciate that so much. Getting side-eyed by the people you're buying food from just makes it weird, so I was happy to feel safe and comfortable to ask what I wanted. It was getting late and they were closing up soon, but I had 2 more questions on ingredients: What is the GF sourdough made out of and what is the salted caramel brownie made of, especially the caramel? I took the brownie to go and I'm eating it now...the caramel tastes WAY too good to not be cane sugar so I'm curious what it's made of. Zest Kitchen has a huge menu and I'm excited to try Kitchari and some of their lattes next time. And their banana ice cream. They have so many unique nut milks that I've never seen at another restaurant: pecan milk, cashew milk, pumpkin seed milk.

This is our second review here. Though the food is processed slowly, they will make every dish carefully and deliciously. They have different kinds of cookies. There are many kinds of bread for the animal toast. My favorite is the multi grain bread. There are many different kinds of jams too and my favorite jam is strawberry jam. They give different fruits on the toast each time. Each of those fruits is used as a decoration to make an animal like an owl. For example, round shape cut bananas are the eyes. You also can get this in the shape of a fox. Back to the owl toast they have different designs of the owl toast. One of the designs is there in the photo below.

It’s difficult sometimes to find delicious vegan restaurants while traveling, Zest did not disappoint! They are known for their “Loin Burger” (I believe that’s what it was called) and I can see why!! So yummy and filling, my toddler enjoyed her “nuggets” and fresh lemonade. If you are a local or a guest in the area, I highly recommend trying them out! You won’t regret it 😉 🌿🌱🥦🥗🥒🍏🥑

This was our first time eating at Zest Kitchen. I had the Zest Burger and my fiancé had the soup of the day and the Tiger Burger. The sauce was delicious. We both enjoyed our meals. There is an oil free and light oil menu which is great to see! So happy to find a vegan restaurant! We will return to try out other menu items!
