Breakfast was good. Good flavor, good service, and clean tables. Gluten free options available. I’ll never understand the “wait until your party arrives before being seated” rule when it isn’t crowded. My only suggestion would be to provide more seating outside for those waiting to dine in.

Just north of the Rockland Ferry Service and within walking distance, you can grab yourself a quick and tasty breakfast as you wait for your Ferry. I was able to walk right in without a reservation...(on a Saturday mind you), because I sat myself down at the bar. Sweet deal, as it was crowded and definitely the happening spot. Service and the coffee was outstanding, but the Traditional Benny wasn't anything to shout out about. Wasn't a fan of the toast. Oh well, can't win them all. I enjoyed the atmosphere though, but my view was limited due to sitting at the bar. The coffee station was entertaining and the work ethic... impressive. Worth your time, parking is limited.

I highly recommend Home Kitchen Cafe! My mother, grandmother, and I stopped here for breakfast first thing on a Sunday morning and had a great experience. We went right at opening because we heard it was a busy place and it definitely was with a line of people waiting for the doors to open! I had a delicious breakfast burrito and took a cinnamon roll to go (which was a tasty snack later). Our waitress was amazing and very friendly, checking in with us often and always keeping the coffee mug full. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again if we’re back in the Rockland area. If it’s busy, it’s worth the wait.

Home Kitchen Cafe is a must-visit for breakfast or lunch! Breakfast and lunch options are served all day, so everyone in your group will be happy here. They have an extensive menu that includes huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, sausage and gravy, omelets, breakfast egg sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, and every kind of sandwich possible! I ordered the fish tacos and my husband got the El Cubano sandwich. The fish was fresh and everything was flavorful. This was the best meal we ate in two days of travel on the Midcoast and we will gladly visit here again. Be prepared for a wait, especially if you are there during a peak meal hour. But the wait is worth it!

I stopped at the Home Kitchen Cafe for a late breakfast. There was quite a waiting list, but being alone, I was able to sit at the counter. I was greeted by the waitress immediately and requested a water and coffee. The menu was very interesting and I settled on “Home on the Range,” which was homemade hash, two poached eggs and toast of my choice; whole wheat. The hash was outstanding, it is difficult to find a good homemade hash so I was very satisfied with this selection. The eggs were poached perfect and there was no excess water, as is the case sometimes. The buttered toast was a great accompaniment for this fine dish. Nearby counter-mates had blueberry pancakes and salmon on toast, it was obvious they enjoyed their meals as well. Can’t wait to visit again!

Oh Yea! What a gem of a place! Well worth the wait for a table but we got lucky and were seated right away. Big portions, tons of options including veg/gf. Our waitress Kim was AWESOME. EVERYTHING is scratch made. We’ll be back tomorrow!!!!

Busy on a Sunday morning. And So worth the wait! They really move here, everyone’s on their toes and the service is quick. The waitstaff are all friendly and we felt welcome from the minute we stepped in. Thanks for a great breakfast, looking forward to our return trip.

Home Kitchen Café is one of those places where I would give six stars if I could. We came here a couple of times over the course of the week and were greatly impressed by what we experienced each visit. The menu is creative and the food is outstanding. The service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is bustling even on this early Fall weekend. You can't go wrong here. Highly recommended!

Had breakfast here both days that we were in town for the Maine Lobster Festival. Each day we arrived about 9:30 am and had a minimal wait, chose to sit at the counter both days. My scrambled eggs were cooked with such finesse, ever so slightly on the moist side, just how I like it, and super fluffy. The breakfast potatoes were crisp & perfectly seasoned, and let me tell you, I was born in MA but raised in the south, so I've had and made plenty of sausage gravy, Home Kitchen had the absolute, most delicious sausage gravy I've ever had. The next day I enjoyed the French Toast, and it was great. Their own house made bread had soaked up just enough egg mixture to make for a slight custard middle, exactly how French Toast should be. Hubs had the corned beef hash with over-easy eggs, which was flawlessly prepared, and he tried the polenta. A server told him lots of customers like the polenta with their maple syrup drizzled on it, so he tried it and realized it was really good! It was fascinating to watch the employees coordinating duties, the kitchen and staff ran like a well-oiled machine! Everyone was so pleasant and informative. We're looking forward to revisiting Maine for so many reasons, and another meal or two at Home Kitchen is on that list! If you go & Debbie is there, tell her Debbi sent you 😂😉
