Just found this hidden gem a couple weeks ago. Omg. Finally authentic Mexican food. Grew up in San Diego and went to Mexico on weekends to eat. Have been living in Minnesota many years now and have been searching forever for some decent food. Found it!!!! Excellent food!! Cannot get enough !!! Street tacos, supreme burrito, chips, salsa! Gracias!!
Authentic Mexican. Not only the best Mexican food I've ever had, possibly the best food I've ever had. I've eaten there probably 10 times in the last month. I get the Mexican street tacos every time (including tonight). Carmen is the best. The habanero XX hot sauce is absolutely flavorful and delicious. The best!
10 stars, this place rocks. Birria is my go to, but everything we have had is absolutely amazing. My kids recommend the California burrito, sueno and Paloma burritos. Love the salsa bar and the small town atmosphere in the restaurant. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Because this is not an elegant environment, costs are much more reasonable than others. Food is good, portions ample, the menu is varied and with a wide range of options. The traditional “pre-meal” chips are good, might be better if more were whole pieces, not crumbled. The big variety of sauces are good, although none are truly hot. Nice place to go that is relatively close to downtown.
We went here because of the reviews online. Small inside & didn't see alcohol, so we weren't sure about the place as we thought it might be fast food. But we were amazing as the food was FANTASTIC!! They used fresh veggies & the meat was quality. Not sure what the husband had, but I had chicken fajitas. I would definate order from here again.
The chips are a excellent start to this authentic Mexican family restaurant...they are fresh and just like the ones made for me when i was growing up! The pico was also fresh and I enjoyed it a little too much. I tried the street tacos and rice & beans and the enchiladas. The presentation was great and the taste was also. I plan on getting the Nachos next time! The owner was there and he was very helpful and funny. The man who took our order was prompt and very attentive. We will be returning soon.
From Arizona and this is the best authentic Mexican food I have had in Rochester so far. Haven’t hit all places up and this joint is proper. We got a veggie burrito with fries and so good. The habanero salsa is gnarly spicy and so good.
So so so yummy! The chips were hot and fresh and the soup was healing. I loved that the chef and his wife came out to chat with me! Also the soup is a secret family recipe from the wife that not even her husband knows. How neat!
Some of the best food in Rochester hands down let alone the best Mexican food.
Most of the lower star reviews are referring to the to-go food service, but how are you rating a sit down restaurant on a service they adapted to quickly during covid.
I’m from California and am very picky when it comes to Mexican food. I’ve always hated Rochester’s Mexican food until I discovered this place. Warm and friendly staff. GREAT food with TREMENDOUS flavor!! I am addicted. Best Mexican food in Rochester hands down.
