Review Pho Tai - Rochester

Bao Vang
Pretty upset they served me a burnt egg roll. I am pretty sure they knew this...I make egg rolls all the time so I know, so for them to serve me this is pretty upsetting. The burnt side was turn down on the plate so I wouldn't see. 😡

Cool temp and non-cluddered dining area. Staff is wonderful; helpful, happy, polite. Many menu choices. I have had more in depth Pho soups but the prices make this a great spot. Spring rolls seem to be missing Cilantro and/or thin carrots strips. The peanut sauce (dipping) is heavily brown sugar based and has minimal peanut infusion and Tai authentic flavor. This is a nice place but lacks deep Tia flavors.

Always so yummy. I crave their food weekly. You cant find fried rice this good anywhere else in town and their Pho is hands down my favorite I've ever had. Their fried wontons always have the perfect amount filling and dont taste like old oil. Not to mention the price is undeniably reasonable, it almost feels like stealing some days. You can easily feed 2 for less than 30 with left overs to take home. If you haven't tried Pho Tai yet please just do yourself a favor and stop in or pick up. The wait time for pick up has never gone over 20 minutes for me. I absolutely love this place, the people and the food.

Best water in Rochester Minnesota. Served in a slightly textured red plastic glass, this water never fails to please me. Was perfectly chilled and made for the perfect accompaniment with my meal. The ice was of a good amount and was cube shaped with indents on two opposing sides. Not to mention, the taste was exquisite. All in all, highly recommend this water.

I had the curry chicken, it was just too spicy for me to eat. I didn't ask for a replacement (less spicy) but she gave me one anyway. Very thoughtful and good service.

Amazing.....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!. Got the Pho Dat Biet and some chicken wings. Whether dining in or getting take-out, the service is always excellent, and never have to wait long for the food to be prepared. You get so much when getting any of thr Pho dishes, I usually get 2 meals when ordering the XL size.....great value. Definitely recommend Pho Tai you will not be disappointed.
Thy Chea
This is my favorite Rochester Asian restaurant. Their food are good and fresh. Most food there seems to be of Southeast Asian ASEAN fusion. Have never been disappointed eating there.

We tried 3 of their most popular plates and they had no flavor. The porkSpring rolls were the worst. Texture was as if the “pork” was microwaved. It was extremely dry and tough.

Nice decor. love the fishtanks. the food is good. Pho is good. But not the best in Rochester. Like eating here for lunch. But doesn't get busy here.

Great Pho and Pad Thai. Super fresh ingredients and very attentive service. Will definitely come back again just wish there was a location up in the Twin Cities!

Vietnamese restaurant in Rochester. Good food. Pho is very good. I usually order the pho combination, or the combination fried rice, or pad thai. Sometimes the food is too oily. I used to order the beef and rice, but the servings get smaller and smaller everytime until it was not worth the price. Overall, good enough for vietnamese food craving.

Our second time here and as excellent as the last time. The service was great! The spring rolls had a nice pop of flavor with the mint and cilantro, the bun was flavorful, and the prices are decent. We'll be Beck!

I love this place. It is our go to place for pho. Their egg rolls are also awesome! I could eat here multiple times a week. We can get two bowls and pho and egg rolls for about $20. Definitely worth a try.

It's The Best!!! Is there a x10 Like it, button?. This is the best place to get FAST, Yummy, Unpretentious and NON-Americanized (non-sweetened), cultural cuisine. Those who say they don't like, should have gone to McDonald's... Here, you can season your own food!!!
Those who don't like the service, aww, (sad panda face here). Next time, just make eye contact, and waive. Trust me, it works.. Or, find the nearest Dennys if you need your drink filled annoyingly every second...
I think they should charge more, as my tip makes me feel like a cheep'o at less than 50%. Enjoy!

Favorite place for Thai. They have the best fried spring rolls I have ever had in my life. There is not another restaurant out there that compares. I am addicted to the lemon grass chicken, and highly recommend this dish if you like spice.

Great Pho. Our go-to place for pho in Rochester. The spring rolls are always quick and fresh. The food comes out very quickly and is served with all the accompaniments. My son loves to watch all of the fish in the tanks. Though not really a restaurant for kids the more adventurous little eaters will be fine.

Very nice. After several visits I can say the food is consistently excellent and a bargain. Everything is fresh and flavorful. I have tried a few different noodle and rice dishes, usually containing roasted pork. They have all been excellent.
The staff is also incredibly warm and welcoming.

I'm going back for more. I am going here again before I ever venture to another Rochester Asian restaurant.
Solid job on the spring roles and pho. Meatballs are fairly lean and lack a lot of the connective tissue and cartilage found at other places.
Two things that need improving:
1) spring roles need basil!
2) pho needs cilantro!

Outstanding!. We go there regularly. Anything grilled is very tasty. Great service, and very authentic.

Excellent Food and Nice Atmosphere. Excellent food (fresh spring rolls), great service, and a nice, quiet atmosphere!! Highly recommend this, we visit often!

1st Vietnamese dining=success!. Loved the spring rolls and #48 Bún Chá Gió, Thįt Núóng is awesome!! Our waitress was friendly & helpful and our food came very quickly. We will visit here again!

Love the soup with tripe.

Very good Vietnamese food.. I've been to a lot of good Vietnamese restaurants in California and this place ranks right up there with the best. I did not try the pho, but I did like the spring rolls wrapped in rice paper for an appetizer. For the main course, I had the bbq pork, spring roll vermicelli bowl. Very good with mint and some vegetables. If you've never tried fresh young coconut water, you must order a glass. It is a nice touch to throw in several pieces of the soft coconut meat.
The restaurant itself is large and comfortable, definitely not a hole-in-the-wall. Service was prompt and courteous. I'll go back for sure.

Excellent food - eat here weekly
Rochester Good Eats
They all good, what to pick. When we have a crave with noodle soup, they have the best and lots of variety. Specially like those white noodle on plate and with a dipping sauce.

One of Rochester's Best. It doesn't get as much pub as many other places, but this is definitely one of the best restaurants in town.
Bun is great. Salted squid is one of my favorite dishes in town. In fact, there isn't anything I've tried here that I didn't like. Everything is fresh and authentic.
It's very family friendly as well.

Yum. It's in my neighborhood, so me lucky. highest quality, and super delightful. i usually pick up, but eating in is super happy family friendly. and of course the iced coffee rocks. rocks.

Get the Spring Rolls. So, the Spring Rolls are amazing and I put that I liked it based on those alone. The service is very good. I wasn't that impressed with the rest of the food though and we have eaten there 3 times.

Good experience. I had the Dau Hu Xao Ca Ri (curry tofu w/ broccoli and enough sticky rice to hurt you.) The wife had Bun Chay (rice vermicelli, stir-fried tofu and vegetables.) We both liked our dishes; though I liked hers a little more than mine. The tofu in the Bun Chay was just a little bit caramelized on the edges, just the way I like it. The food came fast. The portions were big enough to get a second meal out of them.

Good Vietnamese. I have eaten Vietnamese all over the country and this place is right up there with the best. I usually order the Beef Noodle Soup or one of the grilled dishes over vermicelli. The Menu is over whelming at first, but you can learn what is going on really fast

Good food, horrible service. My husband and I absolutely LOVE Pho Tai's exquisite and seemingly healthier food, however, we hate the service. They don't employ enough waitresses to oversee the number of diners during the night, which results in poor customer service for each dining party. Yes, they are friendly, but they don't refill your drink and they leave you waiting a lengthy time for your check. This place would be infinitely better if they researched and adapted simple customer service etiquette.

Hands down my favorite lunch spot, the #18 is soo good. I'm there every Tuesday between 11:30-12:00 if you wanna join me.

LOVE Pho Tai. Pho Tai is our neighborhood favorite. We can order from their menu by phone, pick it up and be eating the food within 15 minutes. Their Pho dishes are fantastic! For the not-so-adventurous, they also offer Chinese dishes. My favorite is the Salted Squid and my husband loves their seafood Pho. They also have the best eggrolls in Rochester!

Good Pho. Went there with my wife - we had a Pho and a noodle dish with beef. The Pho was good - good broth, and plenty of meat. The other dish was tasty, but could have used a bit more beef. Overall, good Vietnamese place that we'll definitely come back to.
