To eat or Not to eat
The place was very cute and it was a nice spot to have dinner and I love that they have live music. The staff is excellent and very friendly. The drinks were great but the pizza was a little dry but still good. We will be back to try a dinner there instead of the pizza.

A cozy local staple with an intimate live music stage. We stopped in for drinks and dessert around 8pm on a Friday, but the music was already over for the night, so go early if you want entertainment. The creme brulee and chocolate peanut butter pie were excellent, the drinks were ok. The beer menu is pretty limited and the cocktails hit more like mocktails. This is a basement restaurant and you immediately go down a flight of stairs to enter. If there was a wheelchair accessible entrance, it wasn't obvious. Service was quick and friendly

The Creamy Cajun Sauté could be the best dish that I have had in 2022! (And we eat out almost every day… ) generous warm bread served throughout the meal. If you want a wonderful dinner experience in Rochester MN, The Redroom Room is for you. Top notch service by Nick. Perfect.

Unfortunately, the meal did not live up to expectations. I chose to eat here on my birthday because of the strong Google reviews; but it did not live up to try he hype.
Was it Rodney Dangerfield that said "That steak was so tough, you could still see where the jockey was hitting it"? because that's what the Bavette Au Poivre made me think of. I had to cut increasingly smaller pieces of steak because the larger pieces just were unchewable.
Bar service (while we were waiting for a table) was incredible. Our waitress was amazing. The food left so much to be desired that I'll probably never go back, and if anyone asks where they should eat in Rochester, I'm going to tell them to avoid this place. I'd hate to be responsible for someone else's disappointment.

Quiet bar. Live band. We got there before 6. Great, attentive service, tasty menu items, small plates to share, clean, and comfy. A classic spot in Rochester. Jangleplatz.

If you are looking for amazing food and wait service this is the place. The ambience of the restaurant is very relaxing as well. I will return again as I hear the live music is also great.

The Redwood Room is amazing if you are looking for a little more upscale place to eat. children are welcome there as well. It's a small space in the basement underneath another restaurant called 501. I would rather eat at the Redwood Room though. It has amazing food. They serve you bread with oil and parmesan cheese for starters. Their pizza is really amazing as well. The ambiance is that of an intimate dinner for two. They usually always have live music too.

It’s always a low key, amazing experience. They always seem to have live music.
I had the Moroccan Lamb, it was divine. I expected delicious and I was blown away.
All the other food was really tasty as well but the lamb stood head and shoulders above the other entrees.

The experience was excellent-wait staff and bartender were attentive, polite and cheerful. Waitress noticed something with food wasn't perfect; she took care of it on the bill AND offered to buy us dessert!
The food was fresh, full of flavor, just the right portion and presented beautifully.
The lighting was not too dark and not too bright to listen to the live music that was playing in the background.
Bathrooms were clean as was the dining area.

Food is generally very good, though there were no vegetarian options at all. Disappointing, since their original menu had a fantastic polenta with roasted red pepper sauce. Would love to see that come back, or at least some regular vegetarian dishes. If you are vegetarian there are lots of great options in town; this is not one of them.

You don't have to drive all the way to the Twin Cities for great food, great music and great service. Loved the atmosphere. Reminded me of the cafe scene in Greenwich Village when I lived there in the sixties. Highly recommended.

I had the Apple cider pork. Seriously best pork I've ever eaten. It is hard to top my mom's brown sugar glazed pork, but I would eat this ape cider pork all day every day. Awesome service and friendly faces. Perfect place for a relaxing dinner and amazing live music.

We took a friend of ours there for his birthday, and it been awhile that we've been there, and food was spot on! It was a pretty busy evening, so our waitress was behind, but we were not in any rush. She did apologized for the slow service, and we told her no worries. We'll be back.
