The Avenue Diner

I had the chicken parmesan and it was great I loved it. The best part was the cheese cake at the end! This place had wonderful service also. We came back with a friend and i tried yhe garbage plate that was awsome!! My hubby and our friend had steak eggs home fries and cheese grits. The service was still excellent also!!

Overall the food was good, typical diner fare, and breakfast is served all day which is nice. The restaurant was clean, the only real knock was an inexperienced waitstaff that had some errors that impacted our experience (received the wrong entree, confusion on the billing, etc). Overall a solid little diner though.

I visit this place pretty often (at least once a week when not in school). The food is always good, the servers are always friendly. The prices are good as well for the amount of food you get. If you're looking for a larger breakfast, I'd suggest their country fried steak. Although I mainly go here for breakfast, they have a little bit of everything on the menu.

Been coming here 6+ years when it was still gitisis. Always very pleasant and attentive staff. Food is always very good at a competitive price. Ignore the other reviews. The owner is always quick to resolve any issues. If you live in the Monroe areas you can't beat the close walking distance and welcoming atmosphere.

I've been going here for a good 5 yrs and I have to say it's pretty nice. The food isn't always spot on, but definitely hits the spot and those who work there have been there for a while, so if you're a regular, they'll know what you want. The waitresses actually have personality too! Amber's probably my favorite.

Absolutely friendly service and staff! I order to-go meals more than I probably should, but it is hard to do when the food is that delicious and convenient. If you are looking for just a simple delicious meal from their simple but sufficient menu, then you won't be disappointed. Their prices are reasonable, for a 12oz steak with home fries and eggs comes out to be $15 and some change. The parking lot is a little interesting to maneuver in and out of, especially if it's crowded but there is street parking. Simple comfort food done right!
