I've loved Abbotts since I was a kid in the 1950s down on Lake Ave in Charlotte.

Love Abbotts, and the staff at the Gates location are incredibly nice.

Picnic tables, sidewalk chalk, fun outdoor space on side in addition to large indoor area. Good service. Even drive-thru (didn't use). A couple customers had their large dogs out barking scared the kids but that wasn't Abbott's fault.

Delicious homemade frozen custard. We had large servings for our single scoop cones. Nice variety of flavors to choose from which a couple changing daily. We had prompt friendly service. Samples available to taste first. Pints, cakes and other frozen novelties available. Drive thru window at this location. Milk shakes, sundaes, and a variety of toppings are on the menu too. Restaurant was cleaned. Large parking lot in front, picnic tables outside and a few tables inside for seating. Order at counter.

I love frozen custard over ice cream any day. This local slice of heaven is a must. Kids always get vanilla custard (daughter) and oreo ice cream in waffle cone (son). As for me, I order a flurry with vanilla custard and chocolate syrup and peanut butter sauce mixed together, typically with either brownie bits or peanut butter cup bits. SO GOOD. It's a nice treat on a warm day 🤗

Ice cream really good just more on the expensive side. Got the warm cookie sundae. Was good but the cookies are hard fyi. Would of preferred a softer cookie

Wonderful soft serve ice cream. So creamy and full of flavor. Your missing out, if you have never had Abbott's custard. The only thing is, it is a bit pricey.
