I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. Don't listen to those liars that say this place is bad. It is my go-to sushi restaurant because it tastes delicious, it's always fresh, look beautiful, and it's cheap! Although the wait is a little longer than usual, it's WELL worth the wait. Everyone know that's the best restaurants are the mom and pop ones with a kid doing their homework at a table on the back. This is an authentic restaurant. I come here all the time because the server and sushi chef are so kind and friendly. Highly recommend.

Please don't be scared of the decor. The sushi is the best in Rochester. My wife and I have searched high and low for a local place with high quality sushi. We have finally found it. One Monday night I decided to give it a shot. I went in and it was dark with no customers to be found. I ordered 8 rolls while not feeling very confident about it. The chef and owner came out and started making our sushi. I had a long conversation with him. He has been a sushi chef for 30+ years and 11 years ago he opened his own restaurant. You can taste the 30+ years of experience. The fish was amazingly fresh and delicious. You can tell he puts all his time and effort into high quality fish. It's safe to say this is our new spot. Can't wait to go back. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

This is THE BEST sushi I've had in a very long time! The maestro (chef) had been perusing for 37 years, and it shows. The warm service, relaxed atmosphere and carefully prepared food balances all together in harmony in this little place. The sushi is fantastic, no one flavor overpowering the other, the subtle temp differences are prefect in the mouth... even the rice is subtle. Fluffy and well blended!

The sushi chef is a wonderful man and very dedicated to his craft. He takes the time to carefully prepare every roll so that it is flawless. He's also fun to talk to. The service is relaxed and even paced. We did the endless sushi menu option and could not have been more satisfied. As a plus, the restaurant is family owned and operated. Everything we had was high quality.

I’ve eaten at Taste of Japan many times, and the food, especially the all-you-can-eat meal, never disappointed me. The food quality is comparable to what you would expect from a good Japanese restaurant. With the $19.9 all-you-can-eat option, you will get complimentary hot tea, miso soup, and salad with an Asian salad dressing that’s not too sweet. In addition, you can order anything on the menu under the Appetizer and dessert sections. On a separate sheet of paper, from which there are various fresh sushi selections you can select. I’m not giving it a five star, because there are areas that the restaurant can improve on. As others have complained, the restaurant is probably short on staff, so the wait time is unexpectedly long. If you are in a rush, I wouldn’t suggest you go there. Expect to make at least 75 min for a satisfying all-you-can-eat sushi experience.
