We took my daughter for her 21 birthday. Very nice atmosphere, huge beer selection, it was very busy and our waitress did a nice job of keeping up, we had a party of 7. Our dinners ranged from, the "Cuban" to fish fries and also muscles, everything was good, we had a fun night.

Incredible food, extensive beer menu, and delightful staff - what’s not to love? When I arrived I was bummed at first because they had gotten rid of the Rochester Burger (and I’d still love to see it back!), but our server assured us that there was a new head chef that was working to make sure the menu had all amazing things. I went with the southern chicken sandwich. It was easily too three chicken sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. And I eat a lot of chicken sandwiches. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The compliment of the honey aioli and homemade hot pickles to die for. My partner had the macaroni and cheese, which is just so, so good. The béchamel was on point and the flavors of the different cheeses blended together to make you feel warm, cozy, and just plain happy. Also, the black lager was terrific. Also, the servers really, really have a deep understanding of the beers, which is super helpful and a nice touch. If there is one thing I’d like to see them do a bit better it would be having the servers be a bit more attentive - particularly toward the end of the meal so that you can get boxes, pay, etc without too much of a delay when you’re finished eating.

Parking lot is a good size, easy to get to, large booths and tables far apart, a little pricey but food and portion sizes are worth it. GOOD BEER. Friendly wait staff, clean bathrooms, clean floors, under booths always clean.

For a first timer, it was amazing. Food was delicious and plenty and the craft beer on tap was outstanding. This is truly a landmark establishment and wish I found out about it way before I read that they were closing. If you have not tried it yet, do so soon!!

Yerm! My wife and I wanted to get some poutine for our anniversary and read lots of great reviews of T&M...they weren't lying. This place has great food (my wife got a yummy vegan burger and I got the best fish fry I've ever had), great beer, and great service. We'll definitely go back. Lots and lots of beer choices too. We had great, local IPAs.

Well I am sure everyone knows that the beer selection is killer. The staff has always been helpful and very nice. I love the atmosphere there and if I am looking to try new beer I always default to there. The burgers have never done me wrong. Always my go to. I am sad they took away buffalo chicken tacos and tofu bites.

Wide selection of beer. If you have a choice of bottle or draft, get the bottle, it's colder. Fish fry (Fridays) pretty decent. Inside is set up for social distancing. This place is a staple in Rochester for beer goers!

Recommend the pork belly sandwich. Food came out promptly and service was great. Beer menu is large enough that you'll find something you like, and there are plenty of options for non-beer drinkers. Vegetarian and vegan food abounds. Comfy little spot if you're looking for good food

A great beer list and a well crafted burger made this an easy choice for a quick dinner out. A bit crowded at the bar area (it was 9pm on a Friday) but comfortable booths in the back offered a spot to relax and have a conversation.

Went for the Other Half can release and tap takeover. The bar staff was very attentive and I was impressed how they handled a potentially chaotic situation. They did a great job and I'm looking forward to going back in the near future.

I had the fish fry (a.k.a. "fish and chips" on the menu) and can honestly say that it's the best fish fry that I've ever had. The fish (cod) was so tender and the breading was perfection. The fries were delicious as well. They were able to accommodate our large party of 8 outdoors as requested. Will definitely be back.

We came for the famous fish and chips, but were unexpectedly blown away by the veggie burger. Tap and Mallet has all of their burgers available in vegetarian-friendly form with a house-made chickpea patty, which was flavorful and honestly better than most conventional burgers I’ve eaten. The fish and chips was as delicious as expected, and there were so many french fries we ended up taking half home. The pretzel appetizer with pimiento cheese and honey mustard was a winner, and we will definitely get it again on our next visit.

Great atmosphere. Amazing beer selection. Being able to see what's not on tap but in bottles/cans so easily is nice. I also had the best buffalo cauliflower ever. Even the vegan blue cheese was delicious. The hot sauce, texture, portion, all great. Can't wait to go back.

We left two restaurants before landing at Tap and Mallet. We shared large a high top table with some friendly people, ordered an AMAZING poutine burger and spoke to Joe about the farm where he gets his corn fed beef in Lima. Our waitress Stacy took great care of us and we had a really enjoyable night.

We've been to Tap and Mallet several times. A few times we brought our children and I must say that it is extremely comfortable and the kids are treated as welcome guests. This time we were without our kids and really had the time to ask questions and interact with the staff. We sat at the bar. Bar staff was knowledgeable and helpful with both the beer and food menus. Great job! We will definitely be back again. Cheers!

Greatly missed the Tap experience while I was living overseas. Glad to have my "local" back not too far away. Excellent food and I've been thoroughly pleased by the service. Enjoying the trivia nights with friends (even though sometimes they are brain benders!) Always a well-curated draft list with options for all beer preferences. The beer goes quite nicely with the food menu which is always something I enjoy. Best poutine in town! And recently a beer was delayed getting to the table (I didn't notice, I was too ensconsed in trying to use my brain on trivia) but the server for the table was great with dealing with it, apologizied for the delay and owned up for that. Looking forward to my next experience here. Excellent place you've got going, Joe! It's stuck around this long and I hope to see it as the pub of greatness for many more years to come!

Food was good but service was awful. Waited forever for every single thing. Had to ask for sharing plates, didnt refill drinks, never brought extra sauce, had to walk up to her and ask for check and boxes after she never came back. Didn't look busy at all. We were in there for almost 2 hours. Way too long. If it wasn't for the great vegan options we wouldn't go back.

The CLT is amazing, I want to know how toasted coconut can be so yummy and pass for a bacon substitute!?!?! I don't taste coconut at all. Oh yeah, and also not to mention the G-R-E-A-T beer they have on tap. The atmosphere is great, definitely a pub you want to go to.

We came in from out of town to re-visit. We ordered coconut beers, buffalo tofu bites, and CLT's. Our food and drinks were delicious (ESPECIALLY the bites!!!) and our server Michelle was extremely friendly and the perfect level of attentive. We'll be back soon!!!
