Elmwood Inn never disappoints. Great fish fry, bacon burger and chicken sandwich had by the three of us. Pretzel appetizers are delicious to boot.
I go almost every week for dinner. The bar is the best seating, near the fireplace. The service is great. They remember us and always seat us in the area they know we like. The food is so homey and consistent. It is great. Being across from college town, you get some great people watching. Really an "at home" kind of vibe. I highly recommend the Blue moon filet. Enjoy!!
This was my second time to the Elmwood Inn and I was not disappointed. My buddy and I came out for their Friday Fish Fry and it was great! One of the very best we've had in a long time. We were seated quickly (no reservations), even though it was fairly busy (the parking lot was almost completely filled). Our server, Christine was attentive and friendly.
I had the Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter with the beer batter Fish Fry and my buddy had the Ellicottville Blood Orange Ale with the Panko Breaded Fish Fry. We both had the onion rings and cole slaw for our sides with tartar sauce in a separate cup. The fish was well cooked, fresh made and delicious. The onion rings were also great! If you're looking for a great Fish Fry on a Friday night, you won't go wrong at the Elmwood Inn, I'd recommend you give it a try.
I come here for the beer battered fish fry! So good!!! There's lots of room and seating here. Never had to wait long to be seated. I've visited here often with coworkers for lunch and we've always had a wonderful experience!
Lisa was phenomenal! My friend had a burger with onion rings and I had the beer battered fish sandwich with coleslaw. Everything was wonderful and I would definitely return.
Food is overall very good, significantly better than most other food in the area and priced mostly reasonably. Beer selection could be a bit better but is pretty standard for the area. Service is where this place shines, staff is extremely friendly and attentive (at least at the bar). Has a pretty large group of regulars and it's pretty obvious why, this place has nailed it's pub culture. Overall if you like local bars/restaurants I would definitely give it a shot.
It's a great little place, not much to it. The food is good and that's really what matters! I never really seen it that packed in there which is good because then you get attention. I tried a few different items and everything I had was good. Nothing over the top or two fancy couple of unique items on the menu I say give it a shot! You won't be disappointed.
For the most part the food is usually good. French fries are outstanding! Today my grilled sandwich was awfully greasy but inside ingredients were delicious. Nachos ordered had cold chicken and stale tasting chips. Had it redone with fries and was good. Chicken still cold. Chicken should be replaced with chili!
Dinner tonight was so good. Coconut shrimp appetizer and a side of Mac n cheese. So so good! Large shrimp with a crispy coconut coating served with a zesty peanutie sauce. Mac n cheese is the creation of the Chef. I loved the white cheesey sauce!!!! Prices are very reasonable. Our server, Lisa, was awesome. Friendly and attentive.
We searched for haddock fish fries near Strong hospital in Rochester and the Elmwood Inn came up. They did not disappoint! We received huge pieces of beer battered haddock (skin on, though) with tastey sides (broccoli salad, coleslaw, onion rings, tartar sauce and lemon). The petite broiled haddock was very petite but very good. It's a bar and restaurant with outside patio area. Enjoy:)
We occasionally stop here for lunch and the staff and food are always great. The fish fry's and plates are always group favorites, and the staff is always welcoming. If anyone from the Inn is reading this, please bring back the open faced roast beef sandwich.
This place is a hidden gem. Excellent food. Reasonable prices. Decent beer selection (although id like to see that expanded). In the bar area there are ample TVs to make everyone happy. I went with the wings, extra crispy, which were cooked to perfection. My wife did the garbage plate. She liked the plate but to my personal preference there was some slightly off about the meat hot sauce. Too much cinnamon? Anyway, like I said that personal preference because my wife thought the sauce was amazing.
We'll go back again without hesitation.
