Review Trata - Rochester

SO CLOSE to a 5* but couldn’t get there. Staff and facility are spectacular. Beer wall is so much fun and a great way to try and test out lots of beers. I love a simple menu and the nachos were amazing and the chips stayed perfectly crisply the entire time we ate. I found the dinner options lacking in creativity although they were cooked very well and tasted great. Will definitely return!

-Great food and plenty of beer selections. -Younger crowds on weekends. - A station where you select your beer, pay with a credit card, and go( see photo). - dining on several floors along with a bar on the top floor connected to the rooftop balcony. - Indoor and outdoor seating.

The soft pretzel starter was super soft. It came with a mustard and a cheese dip. Yummy, I bet it's amazing in the summer they have a patio that over looks the lake.

TRATA is a Rochester restaurant staple. It's been one of the few that has lasted - because they're doing it right. The atmosphere is comfortable, but elevated. I'm not a drinker but the bar area and the beer taps look amazing and popular. You have to try the duck quesadillas. They are AMAZING. Amanda was one of the best waitresses we've had, although I don't think I can remember one negative experience with any servers at this restaurant in the several years we've been going. The rooftop atmosphere is so unique and creates an awesome experience. I typically get their French onion grilled cheese that comes with homemade tomato soup, and the duck quesadillas, and they always hit the spot. Can't go wrong with any choice!

This is a stunning restaurant. The decor isn't just nice in a flashy or cheap way like so many hollow restaurant designs today. It's truly classic, everything from the brick walls to the choice of wood looks and feels genuine and high quality. In terms of the food these are some of the best hamburgers I've had in years. They do come very rare if you order them that way so I recommend just getting them cooked medium. The French fries are fantastic, ultra crispy and cooked well without being over cooked.

Met a Rochester-local friend who wanted to try TRATA... and I'm so glad she did! It's inside an old, converted factory and has an upscale industrial vibe. Our server was nice enough, but we were catching up and talking a lot... and even though it was a Wednesday evening and there were many open tables... it felt like he was trying to turn the table over. We arrived at the trail end of happy hour and started with the lettuce 🥬 wraps. The ladies then proceeded to the beer 🍺 & wine 🍷 dispenser wall... that's right you can pour your own beer & wine by the ounce using a RFID or NFC card of some kind... PRETTY COOL IDEA! For mains I got the pork belly Bhan MI sandwich & fries. My wife got the way wagu burger 🍔 and Cesar salad 🥗 and our friend got the Nashville chicken sandwich with fries. ALL of the sandwiches were very good... as were the fries. My wife's Cesar salad was just OK. For dessert the ladies split the skillet cookie 🍪, which was unfortunately very undercooked... but the edges and ocean ice cream 🍨 got eaten. Our total with tax and tip was just over $136... granted the app and some of their drinks were at happy hour pricing. 🤑 Would recommend and if we go back while in the area... we're going to try and sit on their rooftop patio. 🤩

Excellent food and great staff. The beer wall was amazing, you can sample a little bit of everything. This place is a must!!!

I hosted my staff holiday party at Trata last night. The service and food were outstanding! Special shout out to Amanda, our server. She and another woman were spot on for our group all night long! Thank you!

Had this restaurant recommended to me and was honestly surprised how much my friends and I enjoyed it. The place was super clean and well decorated. We ordered a bunch of appetizers that were all delicious. The steamed pork buns are a must! Fun, tasty drinks as well. The server was friendly and attentive. Definitely would go again!

I always enjoy the food here, when it gets busy it can take service a little longer. We had one of our dinners forgotten in the process but they did get it out to us within 15 minutes of realizing. We had a party of 8 so it is understandable there was some confusion. Personally I could eat 100 of their Duck Cranberry Quesadillas! They are my FAVORITE!

My first time trying a salmon dish and I'm so glad I picked Trata! I did request it to be cooked a bit more than the standard menu preparation and our server was very helpful with relaying that to the kitchen and answering the questions I had. I can honestly say that I haven't had another salmon dish as good as this yet, and I've tried several since. I will definitely be back, the tough part will be convincing me to order a different dish since this one is so good! 😄

Very good bar/comfort food. Easily the best grilled cheese I've ever had. The food is fairly affordable, and you even get the bonus of watching the servers skillfully carry huge trays of food on a single hand. Would definitely recommend!

The roof top patio was beautiful and the food was great! I had the turkey burger. It was huge! Our waiter couldn't have been more nice and attentive!

This is one of my favorites for food and drinks in town. The atmosphere and service stands apart. Having high expectations they never disappoint. Creative cocktails and charismatic bartenders to serve them. Trendy, fun, and energetic crowd at the bar...a great place to go with your special someone or a group of friends!!

Went to celebrate my 21st birthday last night and loved it! The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious (their white cosmo is the best), and the ambiance was perfect for a classy 21st. Service was excellent. We had 9 people and Our server was always right there when we needed her and always on top of things. We will be back!

Wow...this place is simply incredible. We had stellar service from Jinny and the food and atmosphere was phenomenal. The volume is perfect for conversation and there are so many unique elements to the place. I cannot wait to return with friends.

"Kelly B" was a great server. Menu is very limited, which was a disappointment. Chicken that came out was not cooked, so disappointed again. Luckily our server was great and made the visit better than the food. We'll go back for drinks but not for food.

First time there and everything went great and are waitress was on point with everything. Food was great, hats off to the cooks back in the kitchen �

Highly recommended, just ate there. Absolutely delicious appetizer and three phenomenal meals! The first time I ever had Brussel sprouts in a salad, so good. Last but not least, a great bartender and waiter. Thanks for a great experience.

The family and I have visited TRATA many times since its' debut. TRATA was a great restaurant when it first opened and continued to be for awhile. However, the past 2 years it seems to be going downhill. We did a family dinner night on 12/26. The menu seems to be changing to more of a pub style. Allot of sandwiches and burgers. Not many hearty dinner selections and variety. We sat down to a nearly empty restaurant at 6:30pm. I say this only to remark that in the past TRATA was always busy and packed to capacity or near capacity. Server immediately told us there were no specials for the night. Which isn't a big deal for me but my wife enjoys trying chefs special concoctions and their creativity. Service was fair not great. And this is the one area that has seemed to decline dramatically. I got the wagyu burger with onion rings. This combo cost $20! I asked for medium and I got it well done. Barely any pink to speak of. Food is okay but the prices have steadily increased since it opened. The atmosphere is great and still is but service, food and price has steadily gone downhill to the point we decided it was our last visit to TRATA. I try to be very open and honest with my reviews. Take it for what it is but this was my opinion of our last visit at TRATA and the steady decline that I've witnessed over the past few years.

Best waitress/bartender ever named Taylor! Price was reasonable. Food was served quickly and hot. I had chicken tenders and they were incredible. Best I have had in a while! Great atmosphere too.

TRATA is absolutely my favorite restaurants in Rochester. Their drinks are amazing and their du kick quesadillas are to die for!

What a wonderful place for drinks and dinner! I love how the old armory has been repurposed into this beautiful and historic place. The food was phenomenal and the service impeccable.

The food was amazing I had a turkey burger and they are huge. The waiters were really great and the whole atmosphere was amazing too. Take notice of the lights in the place they are made out of corrugated cardboard which was ingenious. I will try my hardest to come back soon.

Came for drinks after work...and went to the rooftop. No serving drinks on rooftop until 3:30...hike down stairs and get your own drink. Then...they separate the rooftop for drinks and dinner. Don't dare ask to sit where dinner is served....unless you plan on eating...waiter had to call the manager for permission. ...too many rules....food too expensive for all the inconvenience. Waiter and waitress were great though. Won't go again.

Omg love the staff. Im a big person on customer service and hands down love this place.. i went to pelicans and that staff suck big time.. never again ..i will refer my elite clientele to TRATA.....
