Ristorante Lucano

My husband and I went last night based on the great reviews. We ordered a cocktail each, two entrees and one dessert to share. The price was $112. I knew going in that Lucanos is upscale dining, but I was still pretty surprised by how much it cost. I understand that the food is high quality and there are many factors that determine the price of food and drinks. I am by no means bashing the restaurant. We enjoyed the meal but as it didn’t blow us away and the price point is out of our reach, I don’t think we will be back. If you don’t mind spending $65+ per person then maybe this is the place for you. Lastly, we thought it was extremely loud in the room we were seated in and it made it hard to talk. And our reservation was at 8pm so I can only imagine it was even noisier around 6:30.

3.5 stars. The aesthetics are great and you can tell the place is run by true Italians. When I first walked in a waitress commented excitedly about my tattoo and the hostess (owners wife?) apologized for her being “a bit crazy.” I didn’t see it that way at all, she was just complimenting me but I let it slide because I know some old school people (like my own grandparents) are just not a fan of tattoos. I think it’s weird and they should get rid of the practice of having to order your entree with your appetizer because even though we did, our waitress did not put in our order for our entrees until we finished eating our appetizer. We had calamari and it was really good with the sauce it came with. I got the chicken parm meal, which was okay. It wasn’t anything to write home about and the carrots were overly sweetened baby carrots, not a fan. My boyfriend got the special, barramundi. Although I don’t like fish and never eat it, I tried a bite of his and it was really good! It didn’t taste “fishy” at all, mainly like the taste of the breading that was on it. Dessert was amazing. We had pistachio cake and a chocolate hazelnut mousse that reminded me of a ferrero roche. Overall it was an impromptu date night at a fancy restaurant and although I had a great night, I probably wouldn’t go there just for the food… okay maybe I would just for dessert haha.

Visited Lucano last night for the first time and I really understand the appeal 😋 The staff we encountered were friendly and efficient! Most importantly, the menu was filled with authentic Italian dishes, drinks, and desserts! I had a hard time making a choice but the bucatini all'amatriciana were perfect! This is a perfect location to celebrate your special events.

Wonderful experience here. The server Christina was insightful, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious 🤤 You can tell it’s made with care because you wait a bit for your food to come, but it’s worth the wait. The owners were kind and asked us how everything was. You can tell by the atmosphere that the staff cares about what they’re doing. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
