The Rack Bar And Grill

At the beginning of the year the food and service was great, 3 months ago the fries with our food were greasy and cold. Sunday Nov 21st, the place was empty, the cook kept asking the waitress how to cook this or that, the service was ok since no one was there at 4pm, got take out burger and chicken bacon wrap that tasted not too bad but was mostly romaine, ranch with a little bit of chicken BUT NO bacon...fries were cold and so greasy they were inedible. My husbands fries were same and his bacon cheeseburger had no mayo as asked and had NO bacon either. WE WILL NOT EVER GO BACK...may as well have burned 30+ dollars. They used to be the best. We heard since the owner opened a new restaurant, anyone that could do anything went to I believe the new place. 2 separate couples said they will not return either...They went to the Rack to eat, they watched another couple come in to eat...they waited forever and just left... the couple we knew said that they had sent their food back 3x to be fixed. Normally I would not lay it all out like this but the downfall of this place is heartbreaking and the fact they do not seem to care about the place here in Rochelle is not right. Cause it was ALWAYS busy, good food, good service and friendly caring people...WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?????

Cool little bar and grill in downtown Rochelle! Visited on a Thursday night and there was a good crowd. Ordered drinks and food. The food was excellent! Had pizza and wings. The pizza was delicious and was as good as any of the other pizza places in town. The wings were delicious, as well! The bar was clean, the bartender was friendly and it was a great atmosphere overall. We will return and look forward to trying some of the other menu items! They also had some "tearable puns" in the men's restroom. A picture is below. I wonder what the others were.

Friday night almost 7 pm and not every table full or bar chair used. It didn't seem busy but took over an hour to get our food. The barmaids didn't tell us how long or kept us up to date on when to expect our meal. It got to the point that we didn't know even if the kitchen got our order. Pulled Pork Sliders were good though.

Janet was our server. My husband and I travel quite a lot. We stopped at the Rack Bar and Grill in Rochelle Ill to have a bite. We were surprised to be served by a woman who was vibrant and had an understanding of costumer service tinged with humor. This is truly a rarity in today's world. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Grill. The food was great and Janet made our experience doubly enjoyable. When we travel this way again we hope she will still be there.

Great beef sandwiches and really good burgers. Would probably be 5 stars if I didn't have to always request that they go easy on the salt for the fries. Edit: Been getting food here for 3 years now. Have yet to have anything that was less than superb. The beer battered shrimp are the best I've ever had. Delicious coating that doesn't drown out the taste of the shrimp. I just wish there was a little more. A little expensive for the amount I received. Just tried the pizza for the first time. While the specials look interesting, I always find the best way to judge pizza is on the "traditional" like sausage and pepperoni. I've tried every pizza in town. This is my new favorite! Good thin crust with homemade sauce. And the cheese tastes the way pizza cheese is supposed to taste. We'll definitely be ordering more soon!
