Holy moly this place is amazing. If you haven't tried their brisket sandwhich you haven't experienced life yet.
Will not disappoint. Solved my supper crisis the other night with beef brisket that was To Die for. Much props P.I.G.!
All amazing road to run. There is a specific set of rules to follow on this road. Do not cross the double yellow lines at all. You could hit someone on a motorcycle. There is no passing here anywhere, but there are pull offs. Pull off if someone is behind you. You can also pull off to wait for the guy you are tailgating to give the guy a chance to pull away.
Ride the Tail of the Dragon for the first time. It is an exciting ride through gorgeous scenery. This was definitely a great riding experience. We made the trip south and ended at the resort. This was a great break spot with a restaurant and stores. We'll worth the trip.
We rode the Dragon today in our M5 and had a blast. We have taken our sport bike up to ride before and had a great time too! We love the atmosphere and all of the beauty that surrounds this area. We will most definitely be and will bring friends.
Amazing ride down the 11 mile stretch with 318 curves! Loved the shop at the end of it had to get us some souvenirs to take back to Ohio with us!! The employees were very friendly and they had a lot of different things. It's also a motorcycle hotel which I thought was cool I've never seen one before or even knew the existed lol
Didnt ride it on a weekend!!! i would avoid that but had fun and the fall colors are amazing, thanks killboy for the nice photos. Shops are kind a tourist trap price so just keep that in mind
5 stars because the store is fantastic & it is a beautiful ride if you catch it without all the lunatics speeding and passing left and right. We have rode it several times in the car and on all but one of our bikes. Best time to go would be mid week. Store employees are fabulous and super helpful! Just watch out for the lunatics!
Went there while driving through the 11-mile-long Tail of the Dragon Road, and we stopped at the Deals Gap resort area. On the other side of the road, the Tail of the Dragon Souvenir store was located. You can buy various types of souvenirs like custom signs, t-shirts, pins, patches, metal signs, stickers, magnets, key rings, etc. Reasonable price. Just outside the store, there is a metal dragon statue that reminds you of the ride you are about to take.
This is a really fun motorcycle ride, whether you are extremely experienced or not. May be wide open, or have lots of traffic, so be flexible, have a good attitude, and enjoy the ride. If you travel here from TN, avoid taking 129 on the way, as that is the Tail of the Dragon. There's a southern route that is longer, but no more time to get to the area. The food is good in the restaurant at the top of the route and they have lots of good swag also.
Ah, the Tail of the Dragon in Robbinsville, NC — a winding marvel that offers one of the most exhilarating driving experiences in North America. With its staggering 318 curves over 11 miles, it's a stretch of road that beckons to automotive enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies alike.
Having had the privilege of driving this iconic route not once, but an impressive four times during a mere two-week stay, I can attest to its magnetic allure. Each bend and twist in the road is a dance of man, machine, and nature, with the verdant backdrop providing a picturesque contrast to the tarmac.
The cherry on top was undoubtedly attending the Porsche rally hosted by Rennsport Dragon Rally. The blend of camaraderie, the symphony of roaring engines, and the shared passion for precision engineering and driving made it an unforgettable experience.
For its unparalleled driving thrill, breathtaking views, and the sense of community it fosters among car enthusiasts, the Tail of the Dragon unquestionably deserves a rousing 5 stars. It's not just a road; it's a testament to the pure joy of driving. Cheers to many more exhilarating rides!
Finally got a chance to ride on the dragon. Great ride, the most amazing road I've ever been able to ride my bike on. Stopped at the 2 places and grab some souvenirs. Awesome experience!
