Schlotzsky's

I was first in line in the drive-through and ordered on medium original. This is the sandwich that should be the easiest for them to make, but I ended up waiting for 24 minutes at the pickup window while the line behind me continued to wrap around the building. 18 minutes after collecting my payment I was offered a medium drink as consolation for my patience, which I graciously accepted, then my sandwich was handed out about five minutes later. The cashier did offer a halfhearted apology and I thanked her and drove off to report back late for work. Here is my point: While I fully understand that it is not a glamorous position since I have done it myself before, I could not help but observe that everyone in view inside the kitchen was moving at the speed of smell. If you accept a position to do a job; try and do it well. I appreciate them being there, and they should appreciate their local customers fighting through lunchtime traffic to pay $7.95 for a sandwich.
