They always have great food and the staff are very friendly. Most of their servers have been there for years, which says a lot for the management.

Went during the week right before dinner. They were slammed with take outs and didn't have adequate staff. But otherwise, food was very good and plentiful. They are doing indoor seating, outdoor seating, curbside and carryout.

The restaurant is doing the best they can with the staffing shortage. They don't seem to have enough staff. But they have to be MORE CAREFUL about who they hire. Some employees at some locations look like they are struggling with active drug addictions and are very dirty looking. The Hepatitis A outbreak didn't help their reputation. Hep A is spread through FECAL MATTER AND BLOOD. The fact that they allowed someone with an active hep A infection to work in the kitchen is shocking. And then for that person to not wash their hands and spread infected fecal matter and blood into literally hundreds of peoples food leading to three deaths in the Roanoke area is almost unimaginable.

Had great coffee and breakfast this morning at FA's. Can't beat the price on their two eggs breakfast combo for what you get. They also have some pretty great comfort food for meals other than breakfast too.

I’ve been to the Famous Anthony’s at Southwest Plaza a couple times and a few other locations. Famous Anthony’s has pretty good food, I shared a Buffalo wrap with one of my kiddos once and she loved it. I enjoy their breakfast items, their waffles are really good and so are their omelettes. Employees are really friendly and eager to please.
I think their managers at the Southwest location need better training. One time I called in a breakfast order, when I got there the manager was berating one of the waitresses right in front of me, I was thinking to myself GOOD GRIEF Is this manager going to berate/embarrass her in front of the entire restaurant? I told that manager they need to discreetly pull employees to the side. The managers response to me was “I don’t know, I guess you’re right.”

The restraunt is either very understaffed or very undertrained. Either way, they were quite overwhelmed today on our visit. We were seated quickly, our server was still friendly and attentive, our drinks came out quickly. However, food took almost 45 minutes for 3 pancake orders with 2 eggs and a meat each. Our food did come out hot, so the kitchen was obviously very backed up and struggling. Unfortunately, one of the pancake dishes was raw in the middle. We asked our server to replace it and it was another 15 minutes for 3 pancakes.
I do not fault the staff or the kitchen for this. They are overwhelmed and probably understaffed.
But until quality and speed of service return, I cannot leave this restaurant at 5 stars.
We will update again in a couple months to give the restaurant time to hire and train much needed staff.
Original From January 4th 2021: Even when super busy, the staff is attentive and gets food out quickly. We had a party of 5 and they still made sure all our food came out hot and together.
