Unbelievable, the best ice cream I've ever had. I have yet to try a flavor here that didn't wow me. It's a hidden gem in Hackensack. If this was in Ridgewood there would be a line down the block every night in the summer. Hard to find but worth the trip.

Clean and friendly service. At the tail end of the main streets in Ridgewood, lays a charming ice cream place that carries homemade ice cream. The owner, Mike truly pours his heart into all his creations. If there are any vegans out there, there are several choices for you, as well. They carry some interesting flavors such as Lemon Basil, Creamsicle, Tahitian Vanilla, and Valrhona Chocolate, to name a few. I found those too sweet and they are great with letting you sample the flavors so you will find something that makes your heart flutter. Mine was espresso. Oh, the full-fat creaminess without being overly sweet. It is the perfect latte profile where you would swear you taste the shots of espresso. There is a public genderless bathroom and they do have limited seating both insides as well as outside. There are hand sanitizers for you and most importantly, they take charge cards. As the saying goes, “every day should start off with coffee and end with ice cream.”

The best way to describe the homemade ice cream here is smooth and creamy! The texture was 5 stars! I had the valrhona chocolate and peanut butter chip flavors. The valrhona chocolate was EXCELLENT! It’s the best chocolate flavor I ever had at an ice cream shop! The peanut butter chip I though was good, but I didn’t like the chips in it. They weren’t chocolate chips like I had at other ice cream shops. They were very hard, and I couldn’t chew them. They didn’t have a nice chocolate taste either. I love the ice cream here, but I wouldn’t recommend anything with chocolate chips here. I’ve seen on Instagram they also make a peanut butter and jelly flavor ice cream which I wish they had that day! Other flavors I wanted to try they didn’t have that day are cookies and cream, strawberry, mint Oreo, and salted caramel. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is solely because I didn’t like the chips in my ice cream here. The ice cream itself is definitely premium and 5 stars worthy. The prices are fair here as it is high quality homemade ice cream. I recommend purchasing 3 scoops which is the largest size because the ice cream is DELICIOUS, and you will regret not going with the 3 scoops later! I can’t wait to come back, and hopefully I get to try those other flavors I mentioned. I highly recommend Ice Cream by Mike in Ridgewood!

Finally a place I can enjoy ice cream without the guilt. If I can give them 10 stars I would, flavors are amazing. If your vegan support! Lets make Mike grow!
