We stopped here on our way home from skiing at Cherry Peak. I was a little doubtful when we pulled in. The place looks forlorn and lonely, like it wanted to be a recognizable fast food chain, but couldn't quite make it.
But once inside, the place is cherry, cheesily decorated, clean, and smells great. There are tons of food options and most everything looked good. In one restaurant our 7yr old got bean burritos, 6yr old got a personal pizza, 4yr old got a cheeseburger, and the 2yr old got a hotdog. I had a chicken sandwich and we got a few milkshakes to share. Everything was delicious. Better than most any chain fast-food place.
So maybe Big J's is actually a fast food joint that turned down the recognizable chains because it knew it was so much better.

Stopped here for a quick meal. Fish and chips were very tasty, as were the burgers. The fries are also good and the shake. The quality was top notch for a small town drive-in. It was funny because we ate at the park and the whole garbage was full of Big J bags. Everyone likes them!

Great fish n chips. Very tasty. Onion rings were a little disappointing. The wife said the Shrimp basket was good. I would do the French fries next time. They have been good in the past. Good lunch stop.
