Such a great place for ice cream. Brownie Madness Sundae is my favorite. We also took mint and butter caramel pecan scoop. Mint was little too overwhelming for me but it was good overall. Definitely going to try other flavors as well next time.
There are enough benches there for you to sit & enjoy your ice cream.
Bonus point: If you have a dog, they do give a pup cup as well. Our puppy enjoyed it as much as we did 😃

Ray's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is one of my favorite ice cream places here in Virginia. There are many flavors and toppings to choose from. The ice cream is tasty and the texture of the custard is buttery soft. In addition, the staff is friendly and quick. It’s important to note the seating is restricted to outside, and there aren’t many seats available. I usually eat my ice cream in the car or take it home. I definitely recommend Ray's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard as it’s delicious!

Great local ice cream shop. Scoops are very generous in size. The hand scooped ice cream is rich and creamy.
Best part, they DO NOT try to tip guilt you when you pay by card by flipping the screen.

Frozen custard is super good! So rich and creamy but not too sweet! Priced right. We tried Fresh Strawberry Rockslide. The small size was big enough. I think it's a seasonal flavor. They were busy and we waited for about 10min after we ordered. I think you get it right away if you just order like ice cream cone. But Rockslides are like DQ's Blizzards, so we had to wait. No indoor seating, just some outdoor seating. There were bees and bugs around because of the sweet smell and trash, but it was OK, we ate in the car. They offer pup cups for doggies. I wish they open on the Southside too!

The vanilla custard never disappoints! They also have pumpkin pie custard for their seasonal flavor! Check them out before they close for the winter :)

Great place! Ray knows what’s up :). Great service, tons of options and great hours. You can order ahead as well. They have a good number of benches to sit on as well!

We ordered ice cream and custard..both were good. There is only a take out window, there is no studs front. The dip on their chocolate dip is really tasty.

Great frozen custard with generous portions. I typically get a hot fudge sundae with the cookie dough custard and it is excellent, while my husband has tried the rockslides which he likes as well as just custard with sprinkles. The only negative for us, and this is weird, is their spoons cut our mouths so we bring our own 😂 this problem solved! Absolutely a must try when you have a craving for ice cream in the West End.

Definitely worth the drive. Ray's custard is equivalent to Carl's in Fredericksburg and has the best Italian ice (yes, better than Rita's). Will definitely a repeat customer.

So good! After developing a dairy allergy a few years ago I stopped going, since I couldn't enjoy my favorite treat. Glad to see they finally got dairy free ice-cream!

The BEST ice cream place around! Whenever I want something sweet, I end up at Ray’s. Huge selection of frozen custard and Italian water ice (watermelon is my fav), no way you can go wrong!

If you haven't been to Ray's, you're really missing out on some amazing sweets. If you're new, Almost anything you get will be great, so don't be afraid to try things that might sound weird. My go-to is a small vanilla custard, (cause their servings are huge,) and I've recently started trying each and every hard custard they have. Their Rockets are always super refreshing and when I first got Ray's when they were on West Broad by Wawa, I got their orange and fell in love. Definitely a great place, and their location by Ray's other place especially always has super nice and helpful folks.
