Review Lady N'awlins Cajun Cafe - Richmond

Enjoyed the food. Luckily went there before it was busy on a Saturday so it wasn't too noisy. The collards were fantastic with so e heat to them. Fried fish and fried shrimp were perfect. My father loved the shrimp and grits with cornbread. Shared the bourbon pecan pie for dessert. They warmed it up so it was even better. Great flaky crust with a sugary goo layer topped with pecans. Next time I'm trying the jambalaya.

Stopped in Richmond on our way to NYC. Googled places to eat and found Lady N'awlins. So glad we did. Some of the best food we've ever eaten. I had the Shrimp & Grits and s/o had the Jambalaya Pasta and we shared the Gator Bites appetizer. We were served crackers with a jalapeno jam and jalapeno butter while we waited for our entrees. Delicious! The waitress was great and even though the place is small and was crowded, the service was awesome.

Bayyyybee! It's the Beignets for me ! While visiting my best friends this weekend she and her husband shared their favorite spot for "New Awlins" style brunch baybay. We trickled in around 2:30 and were lucky to score a nice cozy table at the back of the restaurant. This area " The Fan" of Richmond is adorable ! It reminds me of Williamsburg Brooklyn in New York Or the Village in Manhattan. Service was fantastic! Presentation of the meals was perfection. We were seated within 15 minutes and we decided on Gator Bites and Fried Oysters for apps, I chose the Shrimp & Grits, my friends had chicken & waffles and the Granny Smith apple French toast. I enjoyed everything except the Gator Bites. The meat was too tough and tasted like chicken nuggets. My favorite was the fried oysters. So good ! We finished off our brunch with hot beignets! The beignets were the best. They had been sold out from the customers prior to the end of brunch but luckily the chef was able to hook us up with a quick hot order. I'm addicted !!!!! They were so light. Fluffy and cake like ! I can't wait to come back again when visiting ! The music here was wonderful as well. It really fit the New Orleans cuisine. Excellent dining experience.

It took about 20 minutes plus for our appetizer but it was definitely worth the wait. The dip was nice and flavorful, not too creamy. The wait time for the food is well worth it! The flavors here are insane! The service was okay and they really try to keep it clean from the fishy smells. The men's room was down when we visited other than that everything was fine. Definitely plan to visit again!

First time visiting. Waitresses so friendly. Limited seating. Love the new Orleans them, been to N.O. a couple of times and it reminds me of the restaurants in New Orleans. Food excellent and delicious. Sorry for pics of half eaten food couldn't wait. Oh and the mix drink I had was really good and got a shot on the side for free of drink wasn't strong enough.

I visited for my birthday dinner and it was pretty good. The crawfish poboy was great, and for a small upcharge you can get a crawfish cream sauce on the side. If you love creamy cheesy dip, it's worth it. I loved the Cajun seasoning on the gator bites. I absolutely loved the blueberry jalapeño jam, and my husband loved the jalapeño cream cheese dip. The jambalaya pasta was a bit pricey. But I'm giving 5 stars because Chantel went above and beyond what was expected. She provided excellent customer service and it made all the difference! Thank you!

I got the Taste of N'awlins which came with a trio of gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans & rice. The red beans and rice were spicy and really good. The jambalaya was my favorite, and I loved the flavor. The gumbo was also amazing. I ordered the gator bites as an appetizer, and I loved the aioli with it. The service was also phenomenal, and jazz was playing over the speakers.

Stop by today and had brunch with my nephew. Pretty cool looking place, you have to step down off the street and kind of go into a little dungeon looking environment. They have a handful of booths, some bar seating and then a few tables in the back room. I thought the decor and the place was pretty cool. My nephew ordered the jambalaya hash and I got the andouille and crawfish crepes. Both looked great, my nephew even stated that he had had his before and loved it. There was nothing wrong with my crepe, but I wish there had been a little bit more of some sort of cream or sauce in the crepe itself instead of just on top. When we were leaving a group of young 20 year olds were coming in to celebrate someone's party, it definitely looks like it has a pretty good crowd that comes. I was very satisfied with my experience my rate trip was good and polite oh, I definitely would come back

Had an awesome Sunday breakfast here. Cocktails were a little on the expensive side but were creative, tasty and worth it. The beignets are a must........so good!

As a true Cajun boy I needed some flavor to tide me over ....this was recommended and I was very pleased with the offering. The gumbo is a very dark roux and I enjoyed it. The red beans and rice were great but missing some sweet cornbread to go with it. And the jambalaya is a unique take....for true Cajuns I found their version to be more like a Sauce picante....and it was my favorite of the three things I ate. The star of the show in this place is the staff in particular the bartenders who not only were great at servicing the bar but also helped the newcomer (me) with a list of local places to try out regarding local fare and food. This gesture along with the food and ambience will certainly have this old Cajun boy coming back for more and bring in others
