Very nice steak house in Richmind Hill just off HWY 17. I had the 16 oz bone in prime rib cooked perfectly and it tasted phenomenal! Really wanted seafood, but they were out of thier chowder and the only other seafood item on the menu was a lobster tail. That said, no complaints at all with the steak or sides. Great bar area as well.
The food here is amazing and cooked properly as well. We went in and were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait, only to wait about 15 minutes. Or the server was Drew, and he was fantastic. He gave us plenty of time to make our choices, and even made some really great suggestions. The restaurant is built on buying all of their products from local farms, butchers, and fishermen. It's well worth the price we paid, we will be back.
I travel all over the country and eat at many different steak houses and this place is my 2nd favorite steak in the country. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is really nice. I'll definitely be back.
Local on 17 is the perfect dinner spot for dressing up or just any day. Their food is amazing! I always get the daily special no matter what it is, I always love it!
It's my last night in the area and I had to see what this place was about. The bartender knew the menu well and shared his favorites. My dry aged steak was cooked perfect medium rare, lobster tail was super succulent, sweet and I could taste the freshness. The bearnaise was super creamy and rich and paired perfect with both.
Steaks were amazing. The live pianist playing country music was amazing and added greatly to the ambience. The waiter was very friendly though he did get a couple of orders wrong, namely a very pricey, 10 oz. lobster tail instead of the smaller tail I asked for. I walked away paying more than $200 for two people, so it's not a place I'll frequent due to that factor.
Expect a really good steakhouse to be pricey. This place has what I call a just right menu, not too few of items and not pages of items to go through. Great steak items on the menu and great alternative items as well. We had the Strip steak and also the Filet Mignon Oscar style. Our party also ordered The Steak Alfredo, which was really tasty and served with a big portion. The only disappointment was the onion rings, which were too big and too thick for my taste. They were slightly under fried and a little too raw. Cut those onions a little thinner and make them crispy, and you'd have a winning appetizer. Dessert was a type of chocolate mousse, and it was really good. Great service was provided, while a musician/singer played the piano for the evening entertainment. The guy playing piano and singing was outstanding. Charming atmosphere made for a great place to have dinner. I would highly recommend this place.
LOVE The Local! I've lived here since March & cannot believe I hadn't gone here sooner. Their food is amazing. We have gone 3 times and have had great service every single time & the food has been beyond good. Great quality steaks, seafood, everything. They also have great drinks which is tough to find outside of Savannah. Their surf & turf is one of our faves & they have a specialty caramel apple martini that is to die for. Seafood chower is also delicious as are their fried green tomatoes & steak rolls. This is our favorite spot while based at Ft Stewart.
Great food and service but don't let the outside fool you. The building hides a great restaurant. Good wine list, but a little pricey.
As the admin if Shop Small/Support Local Effingham Bryan and Chatham County (F.B) I had to see what all the rave was about and it did not disappoint the steak was by far the best steak I've had since moving to GA. I love that it's Veteran owned and the service was far superior to many other places I've tried. I will happily go back to this restaurant that sources everything locally and regionally. You can definitly taste the Vidalia onion for the onion rings too. Don't second guess it just go!!
