Blister's Bbq

Blisters just sold… I had been going there since they opened… was #1… now never again!! Ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers, one with Mac and cheese, and mushrooms(which I paid for , but did not get), and fresh onion …. The other fresh onion. We got them, they were soo soggy, you can’t pick them up. Lettuce was really bad, not one mushroom!! Mac and cheese was so peppery, it’s not edible. Good side, actual burgers (meat) was good, and the cris-cross fries. I ordered ahead so I didn’t have to stand in a line of college kids… still had to!!

What a transcendent experience. YES, this is a Gas Station.YES, it is called “blisters”. YES, it is right off the freeway. YES, there is no sign out side telling you this is a restaurant. As a BBQ consumer I must tip my hat to this establishment. It’s was incredible. Get the loaded fries. Either meat is incredible. Below is a picture of all my empty plates.

This place is unassuming as it shares space with a gas station convenience store, however, it serves really good BBQ as evidenced by its popularity. Our party of three arrived just ahead of the lunch rush as we noticed a line of 20 people form as we found a table. We tried the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches with brisket loaded fries, coleslaw, and scones. They were out of baked beans and substituted for the scones, which are served with a delicious honey butter of frosting thickness. Highly recommend.

Everyone was raving about this place and how good the food is, I order a 3 meat plate and a Buffalo chicken sandwich. The meet plate and frys were good, but can't make up for the rancid chemical taste of the chicken sandwich, they put blue cheese on it and my wife who has had it before said that's not what it's supposed to taste like. It tasted like I was eating a can of ether. They were quick to respond and look in to the issue and contact the supplier about the issue. Very professional and will consider returning.

Pro- Fries were good. Buns on hamburger and brisket sandwich were fresh and soft. The amount of shredded brisket in sandwich was good. Con- Burger patty was cooked overly well done which made it very dry, and patty size was fairly small for price paid. The brisket was shredded which dried it out, should be sliced at time of order to keep more tender. I would try again if I was in Rexburg but not going to make a special trip.
