999 Pho

It’s cold out and a bowl of hot noodles soup is what we need. We came one night and ordered a bowl of combination noodle soup and a bowl of Bun Bo Hue. Both came with a plate of fresh bean sprouts, basil leaves, cilantro and limes. We also had the fresh roll with pork and shrimp. Bun No Hue is slightly spicy with hint of fish sauce. Lots of pork came with the noodle soup. Combination noodle soup has chicken, meat balls, pork, shrimp, etc. Tables are quite far apart due to Covid but service is quick even though the place is busy and pack full of people. Will visit again.

On our last day in Tahoe during the week the fires started, heading to Reno airport, we stopped by for Pho. Thank goodness it has a separate hallway before you get to the restaurant because it was so smokey outside due to the fires. You open one door and you’re in a hallway corridor. I guess it’s built this way for winter snow season like a mud room? Well, it also works for summer and fire season. Also keeps the crowd waiting outside inside of in the stores. The pho restaurant was busy for being lunch time. I ordered Egg Noodle with Wonton. The broth was clear, clean, and flavorful. The noodles were a bit on the over cooked side. Came with lots of wonton. I enjoyed this soup. My bf got Pho Tai and it wasn’t bad. My friend got the Steam free-range chicken with bones. It came with a side salad and fish sauce. I would say this was the winner of all. Flavorful, tasty, moist.

I got chicken porridge. I didnt liken it. It was just done differently as other places I've been. It was a bit salty for me and do you know how rice smells when its about to get bad? . Thats how it tasted. :( just being honest. I should have probably tried something else butbi didnt see chicken pho.

If you enjoy Pho, they make excellent Pho. They have a large menu, and I’ve been here twice now and gotten Pho both times, but all the food looks good. The service is excellent, and remarkably quick. They will recommend different plates to you. One time they forgot to bring out some extra rice and I asked about it and they got it to the table in less than a minute. The vibes inside are fine, the furniture is basic, but it’s all about food here and they treat you well. We brought in a party of 14, the place was full, and they got us seated pretty quickly. They are very kind and the prices are very reasonable.

I usually order pho at this spot, they have some of the best pho I've ever had. But I changed it up and got their stir fry chicken and veggies on top of chow mein. It literally had no flavor, there was barely any chicken or veggies and tons of noodles. Ive had dry packaged ramen that had more flavor than this. Stick to ordering the pho and you wont be disappointed.
